mega storms uk next week

on land adjoining the water it was dredged from as long as you can deposit on that land by
mechanical means in one operation. This means that you can’t deposit onto a bank and then
move it further away by the same or another machine. Your equipment should be able to take
the dredgings from the waters and move it to that land in one move.

I just want to understand this last point...So you can pull up the matter and pop it on the river bank, but you cant then go back and move it inland? But what you can do is, pull up the matter, and take it straight to where you want it to go? Why is that?

Remember this exemption applies to contractors ie not the landowner. So say for example company X is commissioned to dredge/desilt a section of river. They are only allowed to deposit it as detailed. If the local landowner then decides to take the dredging and move it he isn't restricted as in that form.

Ahhh thanks for clearing that up :)

Thoughts go out to people affected by the flooding, on the other hand if I was in distress would they a thought for me? probably not.

Thats just up the road from me :| somewhat appropriate username on that photobucket account lol.

Think its gonna get worse before it gets better (they were reckoning it would rise another 18 inches by the end of the week).

I know pretty much all of the places in Somerset that keep being shown on the news :(.

A couple of interesting articles for anyone that wants a read are http://www.nooksyard.com/blog/you-can-take-the-boy-out-of-somerset/ and http://www.telegraph.co.uk/topics/weather/10607011/Somerset-floods-this-is-a-man-made-disaster.html

The key thing to remember is that these aren't some modern new housing development on a known flood plain. This is an area that has been fine since it was sorted out in the 1700s. Then the once the Environment Agency came along (replacing the National Rivers Authority) things went downhill :(.

So it is real then! I was wondering if it was a shop or not :o

Don't think the visibility would be very good if I went for a dive in it :D

More than just a shop there :S whole wood working industry iirc and some offices which are all flooded.

EDIT: Oops you meant photoshop - don't think so I've seen other images of the same area - I've not been up there since a couple of weeks back or so at which point it hadn't gotten to the road. (Can't actually get that close atm as the roads are closed).
