Unless I am missing something it seems a bit of a no brainer. You get one good game a month free for about £4 a month. Surely after just a couple of months you are quids in? Plus the other benefits you get like money off all games?

Definitely worth it. This month alone is worth a years sub.

Not all games need playstation plus for ps4 to play online. i know that the new elders scrolls wont need you to have it. I think there are a few other games aswell but can't think of the top of my head.

Yes, i think it is worth it even more so if you have multiple playstation consoles!

Best value gaming service available to me. Think what a rental package costs you per month, there are none anywhere near as cheap as PS+. If you have multiple consoles it only makes it even better.

The people it's NOT worth it for are just the casual gamers ho only like a very small selection of titles.
If you like gaming in general, you're going to be able to try £100s worth of games every year. Even if none of them wow you much, it's still a cheap way to try different games.

I've probably enjoyed only 10% of PS+ games over the last 3-4 years but I still consider myself to get good value from this service

Definitely worth it, I've had to use the game save cloud system when the good lady decided to press x too many times and delete a game save - panic averted.

It can be had for £30 a year so more like £2.50 a month.

You also get around 5 games per month (1 ps4, 2 ps3 and 2 vita), works out at 50p per game roughly.

You need to make sure you buy the games and checkout properly on your account to make sure you keep them until your sub runs out. You have to do this whilst the games have been reduced to free, so if you didn't buy them whilst they were free you don't get them to keep.

I don't look at it like a rental service I look at it as paying £2.50 per month for free games.

Free games that are relatively recent and not practically launch games from 8 years ago. Had Sony not started providing the free games there is no chance in hell MS would give anything away.

MS are getting better (don't forget that Sony didn't give away stellar games at the start of Ps+), and will be launching the service for Xbox One this year.

I sense another console war starting

No, I'm curious why someone would say what he did. FWIW I have both consoles so I am not fussed about either service being better than the other.
