Persecution of Gays

I've had many gay friends over the years. None of them have been unhappy about being gay, but a number of them have been unhappy due to the way they're treated.

Of course you're free to claim otherwise, but then I'd expect you to be doing some... erm.... polling? also.

How many of them committed suicide? If the answer is none, then this offers no additional insight into the issue.

I suppose we'd better accept racism as well then. Curse those irregular curry-guzzlers!

I never said anything needed to be 'accepted'. But if you wish to measure the happiness of a minority, then I'd certainly factor racism into the equation. It's not something I'd consider external to the debate.

I don't think evolution will be offended.

What I am saying is that if I was a biological dead end, I'd feel pretty bad about myself. I've no idea what you're talking about.

Hai. I'm heterosexual, but have chosen not to have kids. Should I be lumped in with all the 'unnatural' gays?

Btw, I am perfectly happy with my choice of not procreating, all evidence points to me being miserable if I did.

Personally, if I knew that the millions of years of evolution that it's taken to create me would all come to nought because I won't procreate, I'd consider that pretty depressing.

I would say that railing so blindly against the natural order of things would cause depression as well.

Of all the gay people I know, very few seem happy and those that do make such an effort to remind everyone how happy they are, that it makes me think they're over-compensating.

And all the gay people I know (3 married couples as well) are all perfectly happy with their lives (apart from ignorant homophobes being ignorant).

I know what you mean, I get terribly depressed every time I go against the natural order of things, such as when I get in a car and go faster than any human being naturally should or I get on a plane and fly, something no human being can naturally do. Or when I get a pint of beer, an unnatural beverage created by man!

Or perhaps going against the "natural" order of things only matters when it matches your prejudices?

We have a winner :D

I feel so awful when I go swimming.. it's like.. we've evolved so far from being fish.. and there I am.. just swimming around like I don't know that I can go on land!

Apparently a bunch of worthless council house unemployed chavs pumping out litter after litter by different sperm donors are more 'natural' than a loving gay couple with the means to support a child.

Great, I guess that means that people have different experiences. Imagine that!

What, you mean being intimate with people that they're actually attracted to?

I find many canine species beautiful, it doesn't mean I have to shag them. Not sure what your point is, are you being intentionally vague?

I have no prejudices and your arguing style is truly awful.

** You go too far.. Choose your words carefully in future please ** are not natural and never will be if they was they would be able to have children.

It's been said before and NO ONE said a thing!
They(homosexuals) are not GAY. You do know what Gay means? which ever mod you are.

Swimming is hardly "railing blindly".

Why don't you actually read and understand before using any more of your rehashed and yet still completely ill-thought out arguments.

I find many men beautiful, and it doesn't mean that I have to shag them. Finding living creatures beautiful is not the same as sexual attraction between two consenting adults. Are you being intentionally dense? ;)

I'm glad I can't procreate. I don't ever want children, I don't like them at all.

Anyone ever thought that the reason gays commit suicide and have so much spotlight is because despite bleeding the same blood as you, breathing the same air as you and suchlike, are treated differently because of something they can't control? You have as much control over being gay as people have over eye colour and hair colour - you're born with it, and no matter how much you try to cover it artificially, it doesn't cover the fact you were made that way and will always be that way.

The 'natural' debate is utter rubbish. If it wasn't 'natural', it simply wouldn't occur.

Good work, Sigmund. Maybe they are unhappy because of, I don't know, intolerance ?

It was just a short few years ago that Blacks weren't seen as humans or treated like 2nd class citizens because of skin colour. Now it's sexual orientation. What next?
