Persecution of Gays

Of course it is.

This whole 'born with it' theory is a load of rubbish. You're born with cystic fibrosis, that's not a choice. You choose your partner; and if you happen to choose the same sex, then you have chosen, consciously, to be homosexual.

In that case choose to be gay, shouldn't be too difficult if it is just a choice after all.

I think if it was down to choices regarding being Gay or not most Gay's would choose to be straight on account of all the crap they have to endure.

You never read the site. It's from a book they sell in fact it's in volume 102, P40.

An academic journal is not a book. If anything it is more like a magazine. They are generally released regularly but sometimes special issues are released 'off schedule'. Each release has a completely original set of academic articles inside. Readers can subscribe to the journal to receive a copy of each issue, buy individual issues, or just buy individual articles (online, as you have seen). Volume 120 usually means it's the 120th of their releases.

This idea about being born gay, this is due to the false association with a man who is effeminate and one who is homosexual. Obviously when you spotted at the age 4 that your brother was homosexual, you were not referring to his sexual preference. But I assume you were referring to his effeminate personality? I have met homosexuals who are not effeminate at all and i have met effeminate men who are straight. In my opinion it is culture that ends up leading men who are effeminate to become homosexual. Its a part social conditioning to some extent. Of course there is more to it than that though. A lot of the bisexuals that I have met would have sex with anything to some extent, to them is not about attraction, it is just animalistic urges. They don't see it as about some innate sexual preference, its just sex.

Yes but I've never seen it on sale in volumes before. A scientific paper is normally free to read.

No, they are not. They are almost all behind a paywall of some sort. It's why universities have user accounts for online access to them.

I don't think its fair on children growing up with gay parents.

Are straight parents who beat each other and the child better? Or straight alcoholic parents who don't care for their child properly? I'd say those scenarios were unfair.

What about single parents - is it somehow unfair on those children too?

And a happy, settled, loving gay couple choosing to adopt a child - that's unfair, is it?

It's been pushed as justification for homosexuality for several decades now, and just because it's simply not worth the hassle or bother to argue it anymore, it's believed incorrectly to be the 'general consensus' when in reality it never was, or will be. I wish people would stop pushing their opinions on others on this matter though, it's exhausting to constantly read about it in the media. I think they deserve the same rights as every other person in this world, but stop trying to convince those who don't share the same opinion as you, that it's 'normal' or 'right'.

I'm just saying what most people don't say/are afraid to say anymore - which is completely understandable though. I don't bother voicing my opinion on this matter in person anymore, as it helps to avoid the onslaught of verbal diarrhoea that comes from the overly open minded liberals who can't see the basic importance of procreation.

Dumbest post of 2014 so far.

I doubt this will be outdone this year

trust me again, my brother hasn't grown up to be that effeminate and extroverted for that matter. But yes, I was indeed referring to his manner as it was quite alien to me at the time. As we grew up we began to understand it and despite the fact that I may have teased him, he is 100% his own person - which I totally respect. Whether he pretends to like the boaby or not.

Also, gay people spreading HIV amongst ya'll is highly unlikely, obviously.

Also, I have to lol at the comments about extroverts anyway, like, wateva!

Well it is not natural. And unnatural things are prone to criticism and being made fun of. Being made fun of just because his natural mother was replaced by a homosexual man is certainly unfair for the poor kid.

Are you saying that by extension, being stupid is unnatural? Could have fooled me..

So some people here claim sexual orientation is a choice?

Let us all share about the day you sat down and consciously decided whether you're going to be straight or gay

Kids make fun of each other.

Wrong clothes, wrong part of town, too smart, bit dumb, hair colour, too fat, too thin, introvert, it is a never ending list.

I was picked on for having glasses. Why is no one calling for opticians to be banned? Won't someone think of the children? :(
