Titanfall (XB1/360)

I will try the pc beta (hopefully) to see if this is for me, the buzz hasnt quite stuck me yet. Theres great talent at the studio i just hope theres enough here to keep people playing

On a visual note i was expecting more but it looks silky smooth and fun and thats what really counts i guess

That's seems a horrific site, are they going to base the entire review on whether or not a game fund at 1080p and 60fps?, what the hell happened that within the last two months every game had to have that?. No one cared on consoles before, what changed?

A horrific site? Eurogamer is one of the most professional and highly rated sites out there.

Well all they seemed to be interested in is if the game is 1080p60fps, said little to nothing of game play.

The article has the heading,

"1080p60 video downloads plus resolution analysis."

What did you expect it to be about?

They claim there might be a resolution bump before release but it's gotta be doubtful at this late stage?

Not really sure about this. It's only 6v6 with mech's. Can see it getting a bit repetitive quite quickly.

It looks good from the video but hoping there is a bit more to it.

It looks good to me gameplay wise, although I was a fan of COD.
As another review said, it's like a Call of Duty: Real Steel Edition. I think that kind of sums it up, which is a complement in my book.

It its more like COD of old then yea, its a compliment, if its like COD of recent, then its utter garbage.

Will grab this on the 360, certainly not shelling out £425 just for one game. However if it turns out to be amazing and I want a graphical increase it will give a future reason to consider an upgrade.

I'm not hugely convinced on the 6 vs 6 thing. I can see poorly matched players getting utterly and consistently dominated online by better opposion.

Like nearly every competitive online game?

By the looks of it the A.I enemy players will be fairly easy to take down, even for someone who isn't that great at FPS games like myself :)

This will no doubt pull me away from BF4

Ive watched a fair few streams from the PC beta now where people just seem to disregard wallrunning other than getting on top of a building or dont seem to use the mechs intelligently (they are so disposable it seems better to use them as bait/distraction than actually sit in them).

Getting the feeling the playerbase might just default to COD play and not really get some of the cooler things in TF. Definitely feels like the pay offs arent obvious enough not to play it like COD...

ps3ud0

When the Alpha leaked it was supposedly to keep all the players together in the heat of the battle, but Ive not seen much evidence of that other than zombie kills which doesnt lead to much contest.

Perhaps its a game mode we havent seen (only seen TDM and Capture Points myself) - could be a mode where you have to protect them?!?

Ripped from another site

We recently caught up with Respawn at Titanfall events in both LA and London and had the opportunity to try out the beta.

When asked what the native resolution of Titanfall Beta is/will be on the Xbox One, Abbie Heppe, Community Manager at Respawn confirmed the Titanfall Beta runs at native ’792p’ resolution, an increase from the previously rumoured 720p.

With this being such a high profile premium Xbox game this tells me rather a lot about how developers are struggling to find that so called power of the Xbox one.

If you ask me this looks like a sign of things to come.

Flame on if ud like I've had both Xbox and PS3 for as long as I can remember but this time round sitting under my Tv is a Ps4 and I've no intention of getting an Xbox anytime soon.

I'm not really bothered if its 720p or 1080p or anywhere in between tbh. As long as the games look and run good I'm happy.

I will pick up a one when Halo and Gears come along.

This. Suddenly resolution is all so important and yet I don't know what the resolution was of a single one of the 231 games I played last gen.

The more I watch gameplay videos of this, the less I think I am going to like it. I really hope I get in the beta (or they release a demo).

Unfortunately, I think it's the mech aspect that I don't like :/ Maps that have been show so far also look a bit meh.

I think it's going to be excellent but just not for me. Far too fast paced for me and I reckon I would feel sick. COD 4 pacing was good for me, the later ones became too fast and too much constant running for my liking. I'm suffering more with motion sickness recently than I ever used to. I was never a fan of the halo double jumping stuff.

I think this is one of those games I'd rather watch someone play than play myself if that makes sense :)

Dunno why people keep saying this, this is a tech forum where people upgrade on a which phones, ram, gfx card, cameras for a few extra htz or retina screens for texting. It's always been important on here. People will always compare for value for money :)

If people spend £425 they want to see advances over what they already have. It's not just resolution that has been complained about, other areas of the Xbone experience people have been left feeling dissapointed too.

I'm not a resolution whore, I didn't even know COD4 wasn't even 720 until this forum told me but I did appreciate the leap the first time I turned on PGR 3. I guess people just expected that same wow this time and so far it's been a bit meh.

The same argument happened last generation with the PS3 being slated for having an inferior GPU to the 360. That generation ended with the PS3 having some of the most stunning games I have seen even comparing to the new consoles now.

Hardware spec's are one thing but a superb developer is the key which Naughtydog and Quantic Dream proved with the PS3.
