Hi there,

I've just brought a new SSD, to upgrade my system, and I thought at the same time I'll upgrade myself to windows 8.

I guess it's my fault for not checking first, (non-experienced with these things), but it seems Asus don't have any drivers for windows 8?

I'm just wondering if there is a work around for this or whether I need to just go back to windows 7?

If this is the case, any suggestions for what to do with my windows 8 copy? I asume I won't be able to return it now that I've already installed it onto my SSD?

Thanks

I think you will have to go back to windows 7 and you may have to sell your copy of windows 8.

Another option is to upgrade your cpu and motherboard.

windows 8 will find all the needed drivers for you, some are the same as windows7

youll only need the lan driver the rest windows will install

stick with win8

Yeah, even getting the LAN drivers installed is proving to be a little difficult. There are no windows 8 LAN drivers for my mobo. :/ Not that I can find anyway. Perhaps i'm looking in the wrong places.

Aha, I just tried installed a windows 7 LAN driver in compatibility mode. Seemed to work! :D Now to find out how to get Windows 8 to search for all my drivers like you said :). I'll report back if I get stuck. :)

It worked. Thank you very much for this suggestion :) I did not know how effective the windows 8 driver search and installation process was. Thanks!
