Titanfall (Respawn Entertainment's new IP)

just finished the tutorial. graphically average, and don't understand how the insane textures take up 3.2gb of Vram.

I'll just C&P what I wrote elsewhere, cos I'm lazy.

Hmm, it's a lot of fun even if I only played one round. It has a definite 'COD' feel about it. It's fast, you can feel it and I love the wall running. There are so many people that don't seem to understand about the vertical possibilities the game has and still run around on the ground. The Titan's don't actually feel that tough though? Sure Titan Vs Titan you'd expect to get beaten up but a bit like Tank Vs Tank in BF3 and 4 if you play smart then you can stand a chance but in this it just feels like the match can swing one way very quickly. Get a couple of your Titans destroyed or they get 2 or 3 before your side and it becomes very one sided with 2 or 3 Titan's all firing on you and you've got no chance. I've yet to Rodeo one though.

This little extra. Although I've only played one round I think the game could have supported more than 6v6 but if everyone is playing as a Pilot then potentially 12 Titan's at once would be mayhem and chaos. If they had another player class (or classes) that couldn't Pilot a Titan but had some different abilities like a personal shield or a much stronger anti-Titan weapon then you'd have the option of not playing as a Pilot but still be able to stand a chance.

Alright just finished playing after about an hour, initial thoughts are...

Pretty fun, graphically average (had it maxed out of my 290), fluid movement and the wall running/jumping is really fun. The Titans are basically an extension of yourself apart from not having jump. Movement and controls are basically COD.

Here's the kicker, this should not be a £39.99 game. This feels like a F2P game in my honest opinion and although fun I can see quite a lot of people either getting bored after the 1st month or returning to COD. It's fun for a while but I wouldn't pay a penny for this.

It's fast, wall running does let you get around well, though depends more on the map, but it does make everything a bit.... too ridiculous, maps with a building with 8-12 windows on each level of 3 levels. It's a bit, "they can come from anywhere". Realistically no matter how good you are, you can cover 2-3 entrances to a room, but not 30.

It's fun, but okay there shouldn't be loads of variance, but every game on every map is the same, feels the same. I think the go anywhere wall running is too easy, it should be really difficult to make some of these jumps, and too many buildings with WAY too many entrances.

So far, I just don't like the Titans, playing in them, it's not that fun for me.

Really surprised by some of the comments on here, iv put 4 hours into the beta/demo so far and i am just left with wanting more! Cant wait to see the other game modes, and ofc how the online campaign mode works out.

Got my key late last night all downloaded but work got in my way! Looking forward to giving this a go when I finish.
