Shirt pulls and obstruction aren't enough to bring players down usually. Are they not fouls too?

Difference being here is, a shirt pull is blatant cheating, as is obstruction for the most part.

Sanogo is marginally shorter than Giroud(apparently), he also looks slimmer than GIroud, yet he's put up such a physical battle that Giroud is completely unable to. Making both CB's work, every long ball is a fight for the defence, uncomfortable and causing mistakes(which most haven't had the extra runner to take advantage of). You have to have a striker who can occupy and push back the opposition defence.
