Does anyone still watch The Simpsons?

Haven't watched it since I was about 11 (9 years ago). Seemed to get a bit out of hand when I was getting out of it though. The ones when I was about 8 (so about 12 years ago) were my favourite :)

I watch it every week and have seen every episode made.

They have been terrible since around season 11, 10 wasn't bad as it had left over stories from the old writers.
I only watch it due to weird scene of obligation :-(

I watch the early season's a lot and love them so much

Agreed.

I feel like I need to watch it in the hope it may get better (it won't, but I live in hope). And, more importantly, for the Maths references :p.

I haven't kept up to date for years, Family Guy, Adventure Time and Archer are my go to animated series now.

This sounds silly but one of the problems with it is that it acts like a cartoon, whereas older ones weren't overly cartoonish, they still had a sense of reality... It's quite hard to explain

I understand what you are getting at :).

Homer just seems to act like an idiot all the time now, whereas he used to have moments of genius, mixed with moments of stupidity, which were genuinely funny. Now, it's just tiring :(.

Simpsons is on 4 x a day in Sweden still
Family Guy too so i still catch it now and again.
Since the credits went "3d" Futurama style its been fairly crap but it fills a gap.
Might have to catch up on all of them one day soon.
Futurama was pretty terrible when it came back too. Too much pop culture references.

The flagrant abuse of rerunning old episodes ruined it for me, whenever i see it in the guide i automatically assume its a repeat so don't bother with it. caught a few of the newer ones, they seemed to have improved upon a few years back but i still default to assuming its a repeat.

Stopped watching years ago when it got to the point of "cram as many guest stars in each episode as possible"

Newer episodes just aren't funny.

I haven't seen The Simpsons for a while now, when I was younger I used to watch them on Sky One all the time but I haven't bothered with it for years. If I remember rightly it started off really well, then a few seasons in it started to get a bit poopy, this was followed by 5 or 6 years of tripe, then they sort of came back with some really funny stuff. Kind of similar to Family Guy for me, I used to love that show but for me it just stopped being funny around the season 7 mark. I've never been a fan of Futurama despite trying, just don't enjoy it at all.

TBH it's not about how many people in the UK watch it, it's about how many countries buy it and how many viewers it gets in the US. Current the answer to both questions is 'enough' so it gets renewed every year.

I haven't seen an episode for 5++ years but it surely can't be as unfunny as a Seth MacFarlane show? Family Guy must be the most dire "comedy" about.

Pretty much the same here, I used to love the first few seasons, but then the new episodes seemed to get worse, and Sky's constant rerunning of the same episodes with no logical order or idea that I could see spoiled it for me.

It even seemed that when they would stop showing new episodes at random, so one week you'd get a new episode on a Sunday, then for a few weeks ancient repeats, then another couple of new ones.
