Evening ladies and gents!
So on to my 7th car in the 15 months of driving, I found myself running into constant issues with my Saab 9-3 1.9 Tid. So I sold it, paid off a few bills and was left with a mere 700 quid.
So what did I buy?
Well, being a 19 year old with 1 accident (ran into the back of someone who randomly stopped at an empty roundabout - my fault - didn't stop in time which I gladly accept. Because of this my fancies of turbo's and V6's were out the window.
Buying a car for 700 doesn't tend to be fun. Such limited choice as my car is my hobby, I take pride in most of my cars. But I bumped into a gem. Not to everyone's taste but its just the kinda thing I wanted. Reliable engine, retro 90's look, and a well looked after example with some tasteful mods.
I bought a 1995 Vauxhall Cavalier.
Its in red, with gsi front and rear bumpers with the gsi rear spoiler, diplomat heated leather seats, a strong c20ne 8v engine, 60mm all round coilovers, white Cesaro alloys. I'm in love. I've always had a soft spot for vauxhalls and being in a friendship group of Vauxhall fanatics, mechanical bills will be next to nothing, and I can come along to the shows as I look to perfect it.
There are a couple of minor downsides, but nothing a bit of time and effort won't fix. Small amounts of lacquer peel to the rear c pillar, 2 small dents to the back doors (1 on each) and some stone chips to the front bumper. Tiny surface rust to rear arches.
Its not going to set the world alight with power, but ask yourself when you last saw a cav on the roads?
Following this post will be some pictures, id appreciate feedback!
Well thanks for your time in reading this and I hope some people like the new motor! Major bonus is my monthly premium fully comp has gone from £162 to £67 on my own policy!
Thanks. Stee
