Away from home, No internet.. What do?

I don't read

You don't have to read books. Magazines/art magazines/photography? I had a great time one evening in a bar in Soho listening to music and reading through 2010 Snoecks, a Belgian photographical art compendium.

Why won't you tether
Get internet. If you can't on your contract, buy a three pre paid data som card off amazon.

As well as having internet get some games KSP, 4x games or whatever.
And pre load your laptop with films and TV shows.

Local cinema?
Go for a walk, use the hotel gym, does it have a pool.

I just do some walking, play games and watch Netflix when away, drinking costs to much money and piles the weight on.

Presumably you're there on business? Get the hotel WiFi and claim it back on expenses, simple.

You might also consider reading a book, expanding your mind somewhat.

Not everyone can do this.
We get our hotel paid for and 25 a night on the hotel for food. "depending how they implement charges for internet this can't always be used.

Like premier inn, charge on line, so cant be linked to your hotel bill. So costs me £10 for the week.

His company could just turn around and say that they are not paying for it, I know that my company definitely wouldn't.

That sucks.

If my company had me living in a hotel for 3 weeks, the cost of my internet connection would be the least of their worries.

When on extended stays for company business I take the approach of "act like you would when at home, and it's reasonable."

Unfortunately for them, at home I'm an internet-addicted alcoholic. And they pay every penny.

Local cinema is a yes, I already planned to go see a film one evening a week or so. There is bowling but yes im alone haha. I am here on business yes but they won't approve wifi as a work expense as i don't need it for my duties, I cannot tether due to my contract this Three data simcard may be useful can i use it with a 3g usb dongle or does it require a phone? I have a nexus 5 so can easily make a portable hotspot.

As for games so far i have..
Skyrim (its linked to steam though can i use offline mode for this)
World in conflict
(and whatever else on my steam plays offline)

Btw the hotel is a premier inn.

BT botched a phone line installation to our house so we were without internet for a few months.

I was on 3's £12.90 SIM only deal at the time. I added the tethering option for £5 and away I went. It was supposed to be £5 for 1GB but they never actually measured my usage (possibly because my non-tethered data was unlimited). One month I used 60GB and wasn't charged anything extra. :D

Its a three data sim and can certainly work on dongle

Ok no good for steaming, but at least allows you to browse.
Or 1gb version for a £10

Look at buying a new game, if you have nothing you want to use. I have a few films and TV shows on Xbox movies, for when I don't have any decent internet connection.

I saw you mentioned the premier inn.. Can you hook a console into there tv's as i know some are very restricted not letting you change the source input.

Think ill get that three simcard preloaded with data. Don't wana be streaming i just browse ocuk, bbc news and twitter etc.
