Benefits of DGTeam Firmware?

A stable line is one you can plug in and leave for months without thinking about it. If either it, or you, have to reboot then it isn't stable. If you choose to reboot when the line is stable then why bother using and always on connection?

So the router works fine, doesnt slow down and doesnt drop the link but you reboot it anyway. Aye, perfect sense.

Why don't you not reboot it?

known issue on those routers, if they stay on long enough they usually had lock requiring a power cycle. so just does it manually every 3 days. only way to get around it is to spend some money and get a draytek or other high end router.

but a manual power cycle every 3 days saves him money.

but not really.

mines fine and has been for months. It doesn't need reboot every 3 days

I'm on a DG384GT, I find it horrible to work with without custom firmware.

Line normal syncs around 19Mb without me changing the margins, here's now it syncs now:

ADSL Link | Downstream | Upstream
Connection Speed | 24486 kbps | 2736 kbps
Line Attenuation | 6.5 db | 4.9 db
Noise Margin | 0.8 db | 3.6 db

Seriously, 6.5dB? You live on top of the exchange?

I wonder how much value a connection like that adds to the residential price.

The upstream speed is the more impressive - its relatively easy to get 24Mbit downstream syncs, but over 1.3Mbit upstream is much harder :D (even with AnnexM).

Indeed, I'm really happy with my upload speed, I uploaded some drivers to rapidshare and got a consistent 300+KB/s :p

Download rate is nice as well, 3MB/s peak, all that for £15 a month = win.

Down Up
SNR (dB): 2.8 3.6
Attn(dB): 35.5 18.2
Pwr(dBm): 18.6 12.4
Max(Kbps): 21130 1403
Rate (Kbps): 17933 1403

you think it would be worth me trying Annex M

Blimey that's pretty darn nice!

I really want to get fibre but can't deal with "sticky" ip's and infinity is going to take forever to get here :(

I know what you're saying. The new DGTeam f/w allows you to run custom scripts so I've set a small cron job to reboot the router every day at 4am. Not only does it save me the job of remembering to manually do it, but rebooting early in the morning allows me to attain a higher sync rate :)

THREAD NECRO!

Code:
ADSL Link	Downstream	Upstream
Connection Speed	18620 kbps	443 kbps
Line Attenuation	25.0 db	12.6 db
Noise Margin	3.1 db	30.2 db

worth installing DGTeam on my DGN2000?
