OMG Thief 4!

From what Ive read/seen of the reviews, this game is best played on Master, Focus and the Objective marker off. The AI arent going to be much better (they spot you quicker/easier but still give up the chase sooner than expected) and Garrett seems to be far more capable at dispatching enemies when need be, than necessarily avoiding them.

Definitely need to tailor the game to get the best out of it...

EDIT: I might actually buy this purely because of the effort put into the custom difficultly menu, its pretty damn epic...

It was nice to see it get a really positive review on rock paper shotgun, as I very much respect their opinions.

In my view if you a fan of thief games then you should take a punt on this. If this doesn't sell we will never see another thief game.
 
I see the DLC for this is on the XBL marketplace. There is also a bank heist level and a forsaken challenge map which you have to pay extra for :rolleyes:

so they can make Thief 5 that would be equally bad? no thanks

PS although I haven't played the game. it seems that there is something inherently wrong if you can finish the game without actually stealing anything
 
On the fence about keeping my pre-order now. This will be the biggest gaming chance I've taken in quite a while.
 
Id definitely hold off either next-gen version, seems they suffer from some really bad framerate drops from reading a few reviews (mostly cut scenes though). Unacceptable considering how other games are performing...

Assume theyll be fixed but if thats a day 1 patch or not is the question...

Really glad I cancelled my pre-order judging from the FPS drops in bloody cut scenes! Poor optimisation, lazy development. No excuses really.

Pre-ordered Stick of Truth with the money :D
 
So disappointed, hugely looking forward to this. I remember playing Thief 1 on PC about 15 years ago. Great game that was.
 
I've never played any of the gems in this series. So hoping there will be a downloadable X1 demo to try.
 
I think this must be the first game I've cancelled for pre-order in years and years. There's a lot of games out there where review score doesn't mean anything to me but I guess with this I'm just not that interested in the first place.

In other news Infamous has gone gold, so at least that is on the horizon.

Does seem they messed it up doesn't it. Shame as always liked the thief series..

Agreed, infamous second son looks good, so got that on pre order still, as well as the order 1886.
 
Ah yes I'll be getting The Order on order lol. I'm currently debating grinding out the Tomb Raider Multiplayer trophies in the meantime... not sure if I can do it to myself though.
