I can barely contain my excitement for the specs and features that this phone brings to the market.

Its awful, their phones get uglier and uglier i really dont understand who gets paid to design these things. I will be moving to sony for my upgrade assuming the reviews are good on the z2 as it looks gorgeous. That or the new htc.

Unless i hold out to see what the note 4/nexus 6 bring but i hate waiting.

wow fingerprint unlock and and comes in gold.............. yep no ones done that before:rolleyes:

heartrate sensor is useless for anything other than a snapshot, you're not gonna hold it on your finger when running, needs a strap and not many people take phones out running.

Plus the fingerprint sensor is software unlike ip5 which is hardware based so expect that to get hacked

Yeah, as an owner of S2, I think the best upgrade option would be S4, not S5. It is simply not worth the money it is asking for (£650?! You must be kidding, buying a phone that's worth just over half a GRAND!?) NO THANKS!

Do I need a Heart Monitor sensor? No thanks, I already got an app that works just as the same on my S2!

What else?

A somewhat lacklustre S5, I'd summarise it!

I would normally get a bit saddened by the prospect of my twenty four month contract when a new Samsung high end phone comes out but that is a nice juicy MEH and about as exciting as a boiled egg with buttons. :o

I think it's definitely a disappointment but still not a bad phone. I'm not sure what's going on with the back though.

Also, they've managed to bodge the fingerprint sensor (unlike Apple who nailed it by all accounts):

Less successful is Samsung’s take on the fingerprint-unlock system made popular by Apple with the iPhone 5S. Like the 5S, the S5’s home key features an integrated fingerprint scanner, which can be used to unlock the phone or authenticate purchases online (Samsung is partnering with PayPal to enable this feature, though it doesn’t validate purchases from the Google Play Store). Samsung’s version requires a vertical swipe over the home button to activate the scanner, and we found it to be quite unreliable and virtually impossible to activate when holding the phone in one hand. It can store up to three different digits, but it was very particular about the speed and orientation of the swiping motion used — if we weren’t doing a perfectly straight swipe down, it would refuse to unlock the phone.

1GB less RAM than the Note 3 is a weird one as well? No screen upgrade either from the S4/N3.

The camera also seems a relatively minor upgrade.

Chances are, the price won’t matter — Samsung has built a very recognizable and successful brand with its Galaxy smartphones, and there’s no reason the S5 won’t continue the company’s success.

April 11th is the date they're quoting now. Pretty poor roll out time for such a global giant?! Strange.

It's also software based, so not at all secure!
