That heart rate monitor.....I just think its a stupid gimmick!

They really are trying to push this phone for people who work out a lot. Why didn't they just release a S5 "fit" that was aimed at those sorts of people?

Had a S3 until 4.3 came out and trashed the phones performance and battery. Put me off Samsung for a long time, got a HTC one now and it reminded me why I love high end phones so much.

Call me wrong if you want, but for the price it will be and the spec sheet it has, is it really worth the price over a nexus 5? Its not particularly pretty, nor is it ground breaking in its specs. I'm more bothered about function over form, but it just doesn't seem to be worth whatever daft asking price Samsung will slap in it.

Unless you specifically need something like increased storage, it's hard to justify any of the £500+ phones over the Nexus 5. It is great value, but sadly not perfect.

Edit

I expected quite a bit more, a step on from the Note 3 with hints towards a superior Note 4 which I hoped to buy, as is if this is hinting at the Note 4 I might just buy a Note 3 unless it looks like the 4 will be 64bit, the 3 is enough of a step up from the s4 to satisfy me this Autumn.

More bloated? A simple look at most articles about the S5 would tell you the complete opposite.

I'm not a Samsung fan by any means, but they certainly should be given credit for cutting down on the bloat compared to the S4.

This:

The Rom is 8gb, it looks cleaner and more mature but that doesn't mean it has less bloat. Things like the new fitness app are sure to take up a big chunk of memory and resources.

Camera, SD card and removable battery are the only advantages really, the screen on the S5 will be better but I doubt Joe average will notice. I don't think it is worth the extra cost however it will without a doubt be the next cool phone till the iPhone 6 and thats worth a lot to most people.

The design is unstriking

Also think its looks bit too big and wider...

Think its not going to go down well the first thing people see is the design and quality and if it does not look good...

My moto g @ 99 quid looks nicer lol

I've been using my iPhone 5 since Nov 2012 and I'm dying to get my hands on something new/different with a larger screen.

I was hoping Samsung's design department may have come out of retirement and we would see something less Galaxy S3/4, don't get me wrong I like Samsung, they offer top quality products, but I think that two generations with a similar and honestly plain design is more than enough.....shame on them.

My vote is with the Z2 for now (yes I know this is the 3rd version of the Z, but in a lesser timeframe) but for me I like the design, although I await HTC's offering with baited breath...so I will probably go with either of these.

It's a phone,it spends most of its life in your pocket,im not personally bothered how a phone looks as its a phone at the end of the day.

Each to their own, but you'll have to accept that most PDA-phones (sorry I hate using the buzzword "smartphone") have crossed the boundary of cameras, MP3 players, handheld consoles as well as being the aforementioned PDA.
