q9650 idle temps?

just bought a q9650, fitted it with a freezer pro 7 rev 2 amd im getting 35-39c idle and between 57c and 64c on load using prime 95 running large FTTS.

Any idea why this is?

System is Q9650
8 GB xms2 ddr2 @ 800mhz
GTX 560TI 2GB
Gigabyte P35-S3G Mobo

There's a difference between full load and prime95 full load.

Seems fine. I got similar temps with a OC'd Q9550 and a Freezer 13.

it should be overclocked you'll get that to 3.6 without a change in the voltage

but mines stock on an aftermarket cooler :S shouldnt it be cooler?

Nah. It's a 95W CPU. Overclocking uses more power, hence roughly cancelling out the advantage of the Freezer 13 as a comparison.

64C on load is fine. No need to worry until it hits 80C+. Plenty of headroom, get overclocking.
