a lot of money on a punt.. Ebay has gone down so much recently. The amount of crap buyers message me for after the item arrived and try to get some money back is crazy. Won't touch it now on anything over a tenner. The rain forest is where its at for me.

These are "advance returns" from Microsoft, they're sending out consoles prior to the knackered ones being sent back, they're supposed to put a £600 hold on the purchasers credit card first but it looks like people have worked out some way round that. Either way, dodgy as hell

So the Xbox ones without the cables and accessories on the auction site are fully working but could be subjects of false warranty claims?
Surely during the claims procedure MS will ask for the serial number?
What is stopping them banning these consoles from XBL at a later date when they realise the console is not being returned?

or am i missing the point and it doesnt work this way?

If the serial numbers on the outside of the box I suppose they can just stand in Tesco or wherever and write the serial numbers down

They don't put a hold of £600 on a card, the value is about the same cost as an xbox one less VAT, I know because they did it to me. Although never actually placed any hold amount on my card.

My friends and I all pre-ordered PS4 from Tesco.

Tesco's ordering system is terrible, and they constantly sent out the wrong email/misinformation.

A couple of my friends had PS4s that developed the auto turn-on problem, so they told Tesco who then sent out new replacements (complete sealed in box with controller etc).

Nearly three months later and Tesco haven't said a word about collecting the original ones!

Are you sure it's not just you adding a bit of puff or not quite describing things properly?

If anything is slightly out I'll message the buyer.

And as a seller I never get "rabble rabble rabble I want a refund" unless there is some sort of defect I didn't know about.

I've been on a one man crusade of late with Ebay. I've messaged a number of sellers asking for more info on the item (Normally high end cameras going cheap) only to get emails back saying don't buy it I've had my ebay hacked.
I explain that's what I thought was going on and thought I'd send a polite message that would bring the listing to your attention.



Back to OP.

Defo open in front of courier. Then get him to sign saying Brick inside and ask him for his number. If he's a hermes courier he only gets about 3p for delivering it so you may have to buy him a drink.
