BBC 3 to go?

I don't think it needed to go, it just needed to change. As a potential showcase for new talent I think they've missed a trick - the recent show 'Uncle' with Nick Helm was excellent and deserved a larger audience for example. Didn't help that it was marketed poorly either. They made it sound shallow and gimmicky when it was a genuinely deep and funny show.

I think it could have thrived as a testing ground for new stuff, but now seems to be 95% repeats and dross.

The TV snob in me is rather glad. I've only watched BBC 3 when athletics or F1 has been dropped on it. The rest appeared pointless garish trash and we have ITV for that cobblers.

BBC 4 occasionally has good stuff, so I'm happy to see it continue.

If they don't have enough content to fill 4 channels or don't have the ratings to make it worth while better to drop a channel and put the money in to more HD content or pay compensation to the families of their kiddy fiddling presenters.

Only thing I'll really miss is the repeats of Doctor Who when it used to be good.

Didn't they just launch a BBC3 HD recently? What was the point if they are going to scrap it. Surely one of their countless radio channels is more deserving.

Will miss my family guy/American dad bed time viewing :(

They had some good series like the junior doctors teacher ones, its just a shame they arent listening to what people want, you dont see a massive load of celebs and people on social media crying about keeping BBC4 the majority want BBC3 to stay and 4 to go, its retarded. Considering we all pay for the BBC, its about time we took power back and if everyone refuses to pay it will end up dead like poll tax

Can't remember the last time I watched anything on BBC3. Do watch stuff on BBC4 every now and again but really wouldn't be bothered if they just ditched them both there is enough crap on BBC 1 & 2 that could be cut or shuffled onto iPlayer. Instead of taking up time with series repeats just put them up on iplayer for periods of time like Sky have certain box sets.

ok, this might sound stupid .... but if they are ditching bbc3 and keeping bbc4 , wont that mean they will have to rename bbc 4 - bbc3 ? why not ditch 4 and put those programmes on 3 ?

Always watch BBC3, probably even more than any other channel. Will be a real shame if it goes as there'll be significantly less comedy and easy watching TV on.
