I don't think it needed to go, it just needed to change. As a potential showcase for new talent I think they've missed a trick - the recent show 'Uncle' with Nick Helm was excellent and deserved a larger audience for example. Didn't help that it was marketed poorly either. They made it sound shallow and gimmicky when it was a genuinely deep and funny show.
