£700 gaming pc

Where did you find that info please, Doomed?

According to what I found, the L8 500w outputs 456w on the 12v rails, and the Strider 700w outputs 630w on the 12v rail.

If it's accurate they actually have the same output then the Be Quiet is a bargain.

I was looking at Ampage, important for GPU power, not Wattage, of course the 700W will produce more wattage, its ampage which counts.

Both produce 46 (or 48 i can't recall exactly) amps on the 12V rail.

Thanks for the reply, Doomed. See below.

The Pure Power L8 500W power supply features dual 12V rails. The first 12V rail is rated for 28A, while the second is rated for 20A. They have a combined maximum output of 38A or 456W.

Whereas the Silverstone's 12v rail has 52.5A and a max output of 630w.

I think the Be Quiet's stated Amperage must mean the rails are only rated for that amperage, as an OCP threshold perhaps?

As said above, won't fit.

And another thing, that RAM WILL collide with that cooler. The RAM is too high in profile. (though if you put them in outside slots it may just work).

Vengenace RAM isn't great anyway, the only thing thats better thasn the RAM i specced is the timing.

Vengenace RAM isn't all that, its pretty poor.

To be honest, you don't need that RAM anyway. For the price of that 1600 tosh you can get the 2400 Vulcan RAM in Gold, Red or Orange and save £15-20 at the same time :)
