Best benchmarking site?

:p

BM stable isn't an indication of game stable by a long shot.

Most of the results are using gpus that were a baw hair away from destruction.;)

Lol. Its a good point. Also a lot of those scores are under water cooling. Probably best to just look at a couple of different review sites that bench cards under the same conditions and clocks and take your guidance from there.

It is still a good relative guide, obviously for gaming you would back off on some of the overclocks used but the cards would still be relative to each other.

I don't take any of the review sites that serious, I find OCUKs bench threads a much better guide to what cards can actually do. The thing to remember though is most of the entries are overclocked.

Good point Kaap.

You get to see what goes fast and what suits your budget in most cases by comparing all these bench results :)

I will remember the above the next time you comment on a 290P review and say about the review site being hopeless at overclocking.

I keep finding varied benchmarking reviews for (GTX 780 Vs R9 290x)

Where do you guys go for the best reiviews?

I will remember the above the next time you comment on a 290P review and say about the review site being hopeless at overclocking.

That's not really helping the OP though. The fact a review site does not use voltage control makes no difference here. He wants consistent results that shows the difference between the cards. If we throw in overclocking, water cooling and god knows what else in to the mix he's going to find even more mixed results. In this case its just easier to look at a couple of different review sites (anand etc) and make your choice from there.

Thank you all, seems like they are all mostly swaying to the 780, although Anandtech says otherwise :D http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1056?vs=1036

The 290X vs the 780? In most of those OcUk threads the 290X is on average beating the 780 (Note: Yes, quite a few have 8 pack near the top with an LN2 cooled 780, but even including it the average for the 780s is lower). The 780Ti is beating the 290X, but that's not what you linked on Anandtech.

Why not compare the 290 (non-x) with the 780?

Lots of those results are done with Air cooling and knock a 100Mhz off most, and it should be very game stable. If I was in the market for a GPU, I would love to see something like this and work from that.

The 3DMark benches are a little different, as you have 8 Pack in those and he uses LN2 to cool, so a little unrealistic for the gamers amongst us, but take him out and again, you have a mixed bag of water and air cooled results and from that you get a good idea of what cards are fast enough for the OP's money.

I like Kaaps way of thinking and this could be a fairer way of showing what is fastest or what is best bang per buck (I hate that phrase). :)
