*** The Official Dark Souls II Thread ***

I always love the look of the heavier armour but i hate being too slow :(

Not really sure, i wont go sorcerer though as from demons and dark souls 1 it really made the game too easy and took away from what dark souls is all about

Thinking mayve a knight or faster dex based character

I wasn't aware they had improved the archery, if so, might it make a sniper build possible?

This time around I will try a few different classes out early on and then stick with the one I like best.

I think it will score around 85%. I'd like to think it would score mid 90s but I can't see it. Who knows, maybe it will if the story is easier to follow.

It must be a hard one to review as its not for everyone but the vague hidden story is a plus for me, i love digging to find lore etc, makes it more immersive imo! I think famitsu gave it 37/40 or something

They use 4 people scoring out of 10 to get a total

Demon's Souls spoiled me for bows. All previous games I played before that I hated the bow and arrow, always avoided it. But I got hooked on it in Demon's Souls as I loved sniping out bosses and enemies (needed every advantage you could get).

Then Dark Souls come a long and made bows even more awesome, I have no idea how they have improved bows in DS2 (as you guys mention above) and I don't really want to know, look forward to finding out.

Anyone else get obsessed with bows in games since playing the souls games? They really changed my view on them as a weapon.

I agree, ambiguity of the story/lore is a plus. However, because you have to take the time to properly understand it all, it will put a lot of people off, including some reviewers, which is a shame.

ALWAYS wait for the reviews, all of you just taking that plunge and getting it right away are foolish.

Nothing would sell very well if everyone thought like that!

I haven't watched so much as to spoil the game but Ive seen more than enough to know I will thoroughly enjoy this game.

I never take notice of any reviews, but for a new IP I don't have full confidence in then Ill certainly make sure I like it before buying.

I totally disagree.

NEVER pay too much attention to reviews. Watch a few videos, read up on the features of the game and make your own mind up. Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of it, just go with facts.

I preordered today. Got a week off work starting Sunday!

They gave it 9,for me is still 10,can't wait till April cos I sold my ps3 last week:(

Nothing wrong with the 9 though, i had to watch it and one bit of information i want everyone to know is that

He mentioned blight town and awful frame rates in ds1, however is pleased to say this one runs at a solid 30fps through out with out a hiccup

And the lighting in the video review looked great (ps3 version but both will be identical really)

Thanks reviews, this wait just got longer lol

Maybe a spoiler about spending souls/character spec, but exciting

you can now find really rare items that allow you to reallocate spent souls, like a respec by the sounds of it? Source is the game informer review!

A review is just someone's opinion, and I say that as a freelance games journalist myself! If you read up on the game mechanics, and watch a few gameplay videos, you should be able to tell if it's the kind of game you will like or not. The review will just be the confirmation you need. I've never bought a game on the back of my own judgment and been wrong about it.
