3 mountain dews and a lucozade please

my mother convinced me during my choldhood that i was allergic to caffeine.

what happened years later? an unhealthy addiction to energy drinks...

just because you raise kids a certain way doesn't mean thats how they'll turn out

I would not have cared in the slightest, and I assume those that do are the sort of people who watch TV shows they hate just to write letters of complaint to the networks. Im not going to criticise someones parenting from a 3 second encounter I happened upon, for all I know it could have been a yearly treat fizzy drink, or it could have been a 10 bottle a day addiction that was rotting their teeth and melting their organs. I dont know so Im not going to dwell on it.

Alternate scenario: The three children choose bottles of water instead, do you say anything? No? PLOT TWIST! The father is so enraged at having to pay £3.75 for water they could have gotten from a tap for free, that he mercilessly beats them in the car for not buying a drink worthy of the price tag. Had you piped up and said something, you might have saved those kids from a lifetime of physical abuse and they could be happily drinking their fizzy pops or what have you. But no. You kept your mouth shut.

The moral of the story (if there is one)...uhmmm...dont be a nosy nellie because you dont know the whole situation.

TBH MATE! WATER CAUSES CANCER I NO BECAUSE I READ THAT POLL IN THAT NEWSPAPER ONCE SO I THINK THE KIDS WERE RIGHT TO CHOOSE A HEALTHY BEVERAGE SUCH AS MOUNTAIN DEW YOU KNOW IT IS HEALTHY BECAUSE IT HAS SUCH A BRIGHT BOTTLE! I WOULD HAVE CONGRATULATED THEM ALL ON THEIR IMPRESSIVE SELECTION OF ENERGY BEVERAGES AND THEN I would have GONE AND SHOVED MY HEAD BACK UP MY ******* ***.

I'm dead certain that the kids picked the drinks for themselves and have bought them in the past two.

**** me what the **** **** BEEEP EBEEEP BEEP

Agreed.

Was at sainsubrys yesterday at the kiosk for stamps.

Guy in front of me had his 3 kids. He got himself a packet of cigarettes and let his kids pick the drinks they wanted.

Two older twins (no more than year 1-2 at school) picked out mountain dews. The younger kid picked up lucozade.

I'm dead certain that the kids picked the drinks for themselves and have bought them in the past two.

Knowing parents they're highly. HIGHLY defensive. if you critique them they don't take it easy and will lash out at you. So I just let it slide.

What would you have done?

enquired about the sugar content and calories on the bottle of lucozade.

won't an energy drink be packed full of calories? nice if you are playing a sport not so nice if you are just quenching a thirst

500ml lucade can contain upto
Carbohydrate 84.4 g
Sugar 68 g
depending on which one it was :O

Granulated sugar, 1 cup = 225 grams
so over 1/4th a cup of sugar in a 500ml drink?

I doubt a granny with 0 tastebuds even uses that much in her tea

So does Coke but I bet a single jimmy wouldn't have been rustled if they picked up some bottles of coke.
500ml of coke has far less calories than most types of 500ml lucozade

don't worry though it won't be the sugar it will be ADHD

I'd have done **** all and minded my own business.

+1

I would have spent the time pondering why the heck I would even consider this anything to do with me. I would then further confound myself by bothering to create a thread about it on the internet :)
