Lads,

Just been doing the shopping list for my Easter maintenance and discovered that the Gentle Typhoons are no longer available.

By far the best 120mm I've ever used, I was quite gutted. Do Scythe do a 'next best thing'? Are the Corsair SP120's comparable?

Also, what is the CPU paste of choice doing the rounds at the moment?

Thanks.

The gentle typhoons can still b had if you look hard enough but you will pay upto about £18 for them and I would advise looking and paying for them as IMO nothing comes close, I have been through 5 different fans since my last lot of typhoons which I sold with my last system and it's always a trade off, quiet and poor cooling or noisy and great cooling

So what is the next best thing? Is there one?

Simply. No

If you have had GT's before your gonna be disappointed in whichever fan you choose.

I was originally put off by the price which is why i went for alternatives, but in doing so have spent more money by buying and selling and i'm still not happy cos i don't have Typhoons!

Bitfenix spectre pro's, no good on rads whatsoever.

Noiseblocker Eloop 12-3, best looking fan on the market, noise was good, cooling was average.

NZXT enthusiast fan, can push/pull lots of air, probably more than GT's but at the cost of insane noise levels.

Corsair SP (1450) these were quiet all the way upto max but could hardly feel any air through the rad.

Akasa Apache Black, 140mm these are fairly good actually but can get a bit noisy after 60%.
