Hey all,

Can anyone help me with an ebay seller or website that I can get a genuine Apple battery for the iphone 4s? My sisters phone gets to around 40% now and then just decides that its had enough and turns off.

The phone is two years old, so I believe the battery to be toast!

Thanks for any help :)

Perhaps you can take it into an Apple store, irrespective of Applecare. I don't think the battery can be expected to fail in only it's second year. That is of course assuming that it's been properly taken care of.

Just type genuine 4s battery and pick one with really high feedback.

My last one cost £8 and felt like it had the same battery life.

Take it to Apple, they can run a diagnostic on it. And replace the battery on the day if needed.

Cost will depend on warranty/eu-law etc.

We don't have any proper Apple shops down here. Its also £55 iirc for apple to do it. Not worth spending that on the phone!

Battery costs a tenner, only 4 screws. Very easy to do.

I can't work out if any of these £10 batteries are actually genuine!

If you screw it up though, you won't be able to take it to them as a last resort.

Not fussed if I screw it up. I'd imagine it'll be fine. I've successfully rehoused a few phones now and replaced screen / front panel on a HTC desire.

Where did you end up getting the battery? and how did/does it perform?

Hey mate,

I got it from World of accessories, and its been fine ever since to be honest. It lasts a whole day, doesn't turn itself off anymore unless its at 1%!

You don't need to go to an apple store to diagnose it. You can do it online and they send you a link for their diag test and give you a ticket number. Then just speak to support online and they can tell you if the battery is faulty or just showing it's age.

how do you do that? What does it cost?

My problem isn't the same it seems to be ok until 30% then I can literally watch the % tick down to 1% charging is fine but once it get's below 30% it's 1 hour until it's off.

Maybe its an IOS problem? forcing the system to shutdown
