My bitch is acting weird

From what you've wrote & having owned Staffy dogs for over 25 years now I go back to her being Owner obsessed.
The only real way you can deal with this is to socialise her regularly with other dogs & owners. She needs to act animal & forget about you but she needs other dogs to show her how to. As the dogs run about & socialise the distance grows & then she can separate herself from You.
It's kind of a rock & a hard place when you own & keep a Staff on your own & are with them 24/7. You have to keep some distance so they don't become owner obsessed but it's hard when all you want to do is love your dog.

As for the lack of money for a Vet visit I would locate a PDSA vets in your area & phone them explaining your situation & request a quick check over. They are a charity based organisation & very helpful to those on a lower budget. :)

Please take this mans advice op if you lack funds for a vet, I am sure you want your pet to be happy and healthy and this could be a great way for you to get some help.

Its time for this woman:

Does sound like anxiety to me too.
But she could also be in pain, You said she isn't injured, but how do you know? You're not watching her 24/7.
PDSA is the best bet. She may have internal issues. If she is owner obsessed then you would be her safety/comfort from pain/anxiety.
Our collie sometimes becomes anxious and pants a lot, but we know from having a hip op that she is in pain. We give her half a tablet of carprieve and she's fine within a couple of hours.
For the sake of the dog, and your peace of mind, don't second guess yourself or us on here, get her to the PDSA dude.

A dog needs as much time as a small child. And i doubt OP is up to keeping one happy as he has to leave the house sometime. Im a dog lover and within 20 minutes of babysitting a 6wk old chorkie i knew i could never look after one as it did the exact same thing the dog did to OP. You are fine sitting on the computer being entertained but the dog literally has nothing so it will stare at you, Then it will bark or whine so you understand it is bored and not enjoying. In the end up i let it kip on my lap for 3 hours while i watched walking dead without moving and it loved it LOL. But i could never ever look after it myself.

I find it sad you seem to look after it so much with shampoos after walks yet the dogs still unhappy. It could just be the dogs bonded with your mum and your just not ready yet to have one. Leaving the house with a videotape on would be interesting to see how it reacts.

If I could take a guess I would say it is in heat.

Might explain the pee too, it is trying to mark as many spots as possible to get a male dog to notice, and do the business. Could be also why it is attached to you and wanting to be as close as possible to you if your a male, I had a female cat glued to me when it was in heat to the point she insisted in sleeping IN my trousers every night after I took them off.

Just wanted to pop back & say that All Staffys like to lay at your feet, I can play a game with mine if I move my foot an inch he shuffles back in contact & he'd do it all night, All Staffys are like this & the only time he don't do it is when the Doris comes round & he does it to her.
Best thing to do is get a cable tidy for under your desk as that's an easy problem to sort out.
I do know how it is though as my Frank don't like Fireworks so likes to bury himself behind my desk where I have untold cables. No point moaning or shouting or pulling him out it was far easier to sort the cables out the way & let him have his safe place. :)

Do you give the dog fuss and plenty of play time at home? Taking a dog for a walk is a given, but they still need attention at home, they don't have anything else to do and your all they have. Normally when a dog is bored you can let them in the garden for a run to let of some steam, but you don't have this outlet. This means you need to be the source of stimulus throughout the day.

Our dog had very similar behaviour in the 6 mths leading up to her passing away from kidney disease. We didnt know it at the time, she didnt do wee-wees in the house or anything like that, but erratic weeing when out, dodgy appetite and overly attention seeking was prevalent. Id get her checked out buddy just in case.

Im sure she is sorry for inconviencing you so much i mean who wouldnt be upset about being forced to live in some crap hole with someone who doesnt care after being in a loving home in the countryside?? I wonder what could be wrong with her. Honestly some people shouldnt have pets

This is a bit harsh, but ultimately true.

The dog obviously preferred it at your mums and you're not really cut out for dog ownership.

Do a search for "adaptil", supposed to be good for dog anxiety. Contains a hormone which relaxes them.
It worked for our idiot schnauzer.
