Ok, I'll bite. Whilst the law may say you don't have to stop if you hit a cat, that doesn't mean you should just "not worry about it".

If you hit a cat, the chances are you were going too fast down a pedestrian road, so how about you stop safely and if needs be you get the cat to a vet. Better still, drive more responsibly and keep an eye out for all wildlife because it is a moral thing to do and not just a legal obligation?

Yeah, it's entirely true that cats only go on the road in slower built up areas (pedestrianised roads aren't allowed cars full stop?) and so if you hit one you must be speeding.

Or you could wake up and realise that most collisions with cats probably occur on faster roads where reacting could be potentially fatal - I certainly won't swerve at 60+ to avoid a cat, and I'm a cat lover.

Also the original 'fact' is wrong... You have to report hitting an animal if it comes under 'CHAMPS DG'

Cattle
Horse
Ass
Mule
Pig
Sheep
Dog
Goat

Badger not being one of them... Though if you do hit one, it's illegal to possess it so leave it where it is!

Where in his post did he say morally you shouldn't do anything? It was mentioned by law you have to report dogs and badgers. The same doesn't apply for cats. He merely stated what he thought was an interesting fact in a thread for interesting facts. People like you need to stop desperately looking for things that offend you in perfectly innocent remarks!

I love this one!

It took my father 4 hours to realise he was trying to build a small shed with the cordless drill in reverse.

It is quite impressive that it only took my father 4 hours to screw in 10 screws into a small shed with a cordless drill in reverse.

My father doesn't appear to appreciate his son dying of laughter down the phone when he was told that the cordless drill he borrowed from his son was in reverse.
