living between M'chester & Stoke

Biddulph wouldn't be so bad, using A34 instead of M6.

If you're happy using the M6 and all it entails somewhere west of newcastle would be nice - look along the road from newcastle town centre to whitmore, a lot of expensive areas though.

Train wise, Macclesfield would be a good shout, or just some place within walking distance of stoke station (not really any good areas here but some new builds are nice enough).

Are you looking for a quiet family area or somewhere handy for shops and eating out?

Or just live in Stoke

There are regular trains from Stoke to Manchester with no changes. Takes about 35 min. A return ticket cost me £9 last year but I imagine it would be cheaper with some kind of pass. That was an open return too, was slightly cheaper with set times. Even at £9, it's £45 a week with no fuel or parking costs. If you lived in the middle, I'm sure you'd spend a fair amount between you travelling.

That's a cracking idea but now try and find a property close to Stoke Station that is decent :D
Actually those that surround Hanley Park aren't too bad and in walking distance.

That's not bad, petrol would be £13 easy, plus whatever new hole they rip you for parking.
Never found Manchester a friendly city for cars, it's like they air dropped a whole load of tarmac into a bomb site and called it a redevelopment.

Alsager might fit the bill. Train station is within 10mins walk of a couple or reasonable housing estates. It's only a 4 min hop to Kidsgrove station then straight through to Piccadilly. Access to M6 is easy, as is the A34.

Well having a quick look, oxford road is near Piccadilly station although it's a long road..

You can easily get from stoke town to Piccadilly station in less than an hour

Depends what you mean by nice. What one person thinks is nice, others will think is a dump. Maybe a price range?

as dimple said, there isn't that much around the station but if the mrs works in stoke and you want close to the train station, maybe Tolkien Way st4 7sj. Always seemed like a nice little estate. Probably a bit cheaper than you asked for. Small word of warning, if you go much further uphill towards Hartshill, make sure it has parking as that's getting close to the hospital and there is almost no free on-street parking, as dimple will know!

She's in Stoke(town)

ST4 is also the big hospital I work at.
I hope it wasn't her who knocked me off my bike the other week in Stoke Town centre.

That's why I cycle every day.

You mean Shelton basically ?

The streets right next to the park aren't too bad.

Is this really what makes a location appeal to you?! :p

Less of the chav and more of the posh would signify a nice area imo!
I'm describing the town for him :p
Like Crewe is mostly chav, but he might expect Nantwich to be all posh but it isn't.
Too posh is pretty awful though, nobs lining up at the bar jangling their BMW keyfobs and trying to talk louder than everyone else.

Lovely girl in The Railway Hotel last night.
She stood in front of me gyrating up against a post which made me smile then nearly started a fight with another woman because she touched her bloke. When we came off stage she went through all of us trying to entice us to give her one but an onlooker grabbed his chance and took her off :D
Nantwich girls.

(yes I know it was a one off).
