Is this eyedot's F40 ?

That photo makes me feel warm inside.

I know of a few people who have similar types of car but keep them garaged and driven a couple of not too hot not too cold dry summers days a year. Sure some people do it for the "investment" but I'm sure there are better ways to invest...
 
Interesting article. I'd like to think I'm in the middle but I tend to go towards the 'keeping it shiny' group.
 
Seen your F40 a couple of times in and around North Staffordshire Eyedot, I'm yet to see it clean!

I'm firmly in the "drive it and keep it filthy" camp.

I am disappointed that nobody has written "also available in red" on it though :p
 
Dirty cars are fine, until you realise the 6 months of grit/crap has collected in your arches and they're beginning to rot from the inside:p

Me too and I think it looks purposeful. Then I wash it and forget how good it looks clean. Lol
 
Why not drive it and keep it clean? :eek:

Even my Mondeo rarely gets in that state & I use it every day, come to think of it neither does the Jeep and that gets taken off road every Saturday.

There's plenty on here, including that photo in the article.

I'm in the camp of use it, but keep it tidy. Picking up a couple of minor marks etc through its use is fair enough, but I wouldn't leave it to get covered in dirt.

After all, they were made to be driven, not to be museum pieces.
 
They were built to be driven like 25 years ago and even then not as a daily driver. Not sure it's recommended now unless you can afford to roll your smokes in 20s and take it from there.
 
Hell, my car gets its ~6 monthly clean when it goes in for a service! :)

Doing ~700 miles a week I'd have to clean it every single day if I wanted it to actually look clean.
