Nvidia's GTC 2014 Thread

Why would you not buy 2 Titans for 2k? $3000 is completely ******* ridiculous. before you factor in that Titan's pricing was completely ******* ridiculous.

Also their comparison, the entire google brain can fit on it, right, because those 2000 computers, the memory involved there, and data storage, all fits on the gpu. Also each cpu core at 4ghz has equal performance to a single 1ghz Nvidia core.... lol.

not for gamers guys, its for designers and big computing learning machines

He quite clearly said it WAS for gamers as well as other people.

He pre-empted Titan Z by talking about Titan.... while also saying Titan enables you to game at 4k at max settings with max framerate. He most certainly talked about gaming in regards to Titan, and the Titan and GTX brand is the consumer, not the professional brand.

Titan branding is clearly set apart from the main gaming GPU line. Developers, CUDA, artistic design. It's basically a cheaper Tesla card. That amount of compute performance for the price isn't that bad in terms of Tesla cards..

For gaming the main focus is the GTX 7XX / 8XX line. When Nvidia do gaming charts they put the GTX 780Ti at the top above both the current Titans.

Obviously Nvidia will be happy if gamers with deep pockets pick it up as well, but this is clearly not the main market target.

These demos are all well and good to show what is possible, but the realist in me says "How long will it be before more than a handful of devs incorporate it into their games".
