It's been a while since I've done this and I used to use Imageshack. Just logged into my account there and you have to upgrade to upload pics now. What do people use to put pics in a thread?

I find the ol' FTP upload (as browser add-on) far easier than Photobucket etc. I do use PB as I'm running out of webspace, but I find it's too many clicks to upload a picture on PB, then when you grab the link, it buries the IMG tags inside a set of URL tags so that you have to parse it. These image upload sites are supposed to be easier than FTP but they ain't!

What the hell are you blithering on about ? Once you upload an image to Photobucket, you have four options. For forums you simply click ONCE on the img option and then paste that into your post. It couldn't be easier.

This is what I'm 'blithering' about:

I'm not being funny, but pressing 'upload' > dragging said image into the browser > then pressing image thumb > then pressing either Direct or Img > ctrl-V > then parsing URL off the above link ISN'T easier than using FTP goddammit Leroy lol :p

I can google an image, upload it to photobucket then grab the forum link and have it in a post in less than 60 seconds. I honestly don't get what your problem is. Maybe you should take a beginners guide course in IT.

I don't think that FTP would be covered in a beginner's guide to IT. Have you programmed in assembly ever? I have.

We are entitled to our own opinions, Silver, so not a lot you can do about it. The OP asked what we use for image hosting, so I gave my response. However, if you want to be helpful, you can explain the PB process and point out the so many flaws that my post appears to have.

Pb is easy enough to work, but lately it has some moments its tediously slow! Which is why I have just registered with imgur after it was recommended to me on here! Now to retrieve my photos!

Yes we are but we are not entitled to our own facts. What you said about Photobucket is complete nonsense. I know this because I've used it regularly for many years. I'm done talking to you. I hate people who can't argue honestly.

Don't touch imgur, serously.

If you look at the gif thread you'll notice all the images that have expired are 99% imgur links. Speaks for itself.

www.tinypic.com

I've uploaded pics on this very forum years ago and they still work to this day using tinypic. Definitely use that.

Chrome + imgur plugin = image sharing bliss. Exhibit A, capture area and right click to rehost:

Who cares if it's still a live link in two years? The moment has usually gone by then. For anything important / requiring permanence, use something else.
