G-sync monitors

I've been looking on overclockers and not seen any signs yet of G-SYNC is it out here in the UK yet ?

And will overclockers be selling g-sync module's

Nope, doesnt look like it, there are supposed to be about 6 models of gsync monitor coming out, but not seen any on sale yet except the modded ones for £440 which is too much for a 1080p monitor imo

Yeah i am not paying £440 for 1080p way over the top unless its G-sync and 2560x1440p .

I'm waiting and hoping the new ASUS PG248Q 2560x1440 G-Sync ROG Monitor WQHD will be good and have a with it reasonable price ,I Think that's going to be round $799 us so hopping its going to be between 400 and 500 UK but i bet will be end up some thing like 700 to 800 pounds because we all ways get cheated with higher prices in UK 20% VAT what a joke .

These G-Sync monitors are taking so long to get to market!!! They told us about it ages ago and I expected them to be hear by Feb/Mar 14. Now it's looking more like late summer.

I also hope that the native G-Sync monitors have DVI and HDMI support - not just a single display port like the upgrade packs do.

Yeah would be great to have the other ports but to be honest i am not to worried about them if the Dport does what i need ill be happy ,But the plus side of having them extra ports would be great for plugin in other things as well ,I cant see why it would be be a big problem for them to add them ports but i think maybe first gen will be with out to keep cost down .

I may be hoping for too much - but I want to be able to have a PS4 hooked into a HDMI port next to my gaming PC.

Like you said however, first gen may just use the standard G-Sync module which will likely mean no separate board for HDMI/DVI.

Yeah i follow them guys on TWITTER as well they seem to know what there talking about when it come to gaming monitors and motion blur .

I check that page every day

I want my next monitor to be a nice step up from my old Acer P224W. I play games a lot so all this lightboost and g-sync tech sounds great. I think the ROG swift is going to be a bit too expensive though

Yeah i think going from US prices when it hits of $799 converted to UK £480.39 that's what it converts down to, So that's not to high for a monitor with 2560x1440 G-Sync as well ,I think if that was the price i would get one any higher I maybe on the fence about it .

I all ready have a great monitor the BenQ XL2720T but does not have G-SYNC nor is it 2560x1440 ,But its still a great monitor .If i buy the new ASUS one and then maybe get a g-sync module for the BenQ later or just not bother with that ,I just want them to come out ASAP .

you're forgetting to add VAT, import and shipping (depending on where it is made)... it has been hinted at £600 UK price

You get next day free if you are member in overclockers forum if you buy some thing over £100 , We all will just have to wait and see .

And hope the price is not silly higher so that no normal gamer's don't need to rob a bank to get the money ,

I think £600 is over what i wanted to pay but i think i would get it at that price but that said its very limited when it come to inputs which would be a big downer at £600 .

1920x1080 will do me fine as I want to make proper use of higher frame rates rather than higher res and having to beef up my PC. My current monitor is only 1680x1050 so I should notice a difference anyway

if any thing went wrong with the item you have a problem .Normally any thing import will not have a warranty in UK , Even if they do have a warranty cover in US for sending back its going to be a real pain sending it back to the US .And the cost well you will need deep pockets .

Yes i know what you mean i have two 780 ti in Sli ,so should be fine playing any game all max out detail with that res, Even if you cant you wont need full AA on the image would be very sharp and very clear .

No, look, when they make something in another country, they have to ship it to here to be able to sell it here, the cost of doing that gets added to the price that YOU pay regardless, the cost of shipping to the UK might be different than to the US depending on volumes etc.

In any case, converting the US price to pounds and just adding VAT you get to over £560, so it definitely isnt going to be under £500, which seems to be your cut off

To be honest, with Samsung 4K 60Hz monitors coming in at sub £500, it getting harder and harder to justify getting a high priced G-sync monitor.

IMO even if Nvidia wanted to make G-sync proprietary, they should have done it in a way that would work entirely on graphic card side, or alongside an additional piece of external hardware that can work with ANY display, rather than having a fixed piece of hardware inside specific monitors.

Iirc it requires the display to have a certain interface on the panel to take a gsync module, nvidia have told all manufacturers using displays with this interface to get in touch with them if they wish to have modules made for them.

The pcper nvidia interview video is a good watch if you have a spare 45mins.
