Typical usage for me.

I have a nexus 5, but why am I drawn to this phone ? :)

Would I be wasting money buying one ?

Any definite vs reviews to put my mind at ease lol

I've had both bit currently use the Moto. The nexus is sat in its box waiting to be sold.

The moto feels nicer in the hand. The screen s nicer (even though its 'only' 720p).

Yea the nexus is faster butctge moto is no slouch either. Its just the little touches that are built in that I like such as moto connect. The active display notifications are superb.

Thanks ! What are resale value like for the moto x ? Would they hold their price ?

Think i need to buy one from a shop that does dsr do can send it back with no hassle.

Amazon. ? But £50 dearer than expansys

But with Amazon they'll take it back without hassle. Others might but it'll probably have to be within 14 days.

Moto X is a good. Nice phone that I can find little wrong with. 16gb of storage, well less, is about the only downside. Touchless control and active display are very good. Battery lasts very well, call quality is very good and even rear 'loudspeaker' is clear and loud for its size. Just a good size for single handed operation. Gets my thumbs up.

Depends how you use your phone but file storage is a little tight and no sd card slot for expansion. Only app I use that doesn't work is Sky Go but no surprise with those useless p*****ks. I did side load a backup copy of the app from previous phone and although it seemed to install and work the moment I tried to log in I got the unsupported hardware message.

Not a lot in it from what i can tell (Dont take that many pictures TBH)

I'll try and get some comparison shots later as i still have them both at the moment.

Managed to flatten the battery in 26 hours this charge cycle. Bit heavier usage but got 4 Hrs 3 Mins Screen time, so am happy with that.

Ok thanks, look forward to seeing the pics! :)

So hard deciding between this and the nexus 5 :( If only the nexus 5 had a SAMOLED screen........

Picked up a black Moto X on eBay for £250 the other week, and I liked it so much I found another in white for the same, so that's coming this week.

I have a Nexus 5 already which is think is great, but the 5 only seems to have two advantages over the Moto X - speed and screen. It's a great phone but it doesn't appear to have had as much care and thought put into it as the Moto X.

The X feels better in hand and has better battery life. Active notifications are great and I love being able to pull my phone out of my pocket and instantly see what's going on.

I don't know if I will sell my Nexus 5, but right now, the Moto X is winning.

Better camera... not sure. I don't take many photos with my phones. Speaker quality is better on the X for sure. It's louder too.

There's a bunch of American 32GB Developer Edition phones going very cheap on ebay. Cheap as in cheaper than the 16Gb model is going for here, even for some new ones! And since our only having the 16Gb mode in the UK was the only thing that has been holding me back from getting this phone so far, I feel highly inclined to jump at this chance and buy one!

I've done some checking and according to wikipedia both the Verizon and AT&T Developer Editions of this phone support UMTS 2100 and 900, which are (apparently) the bands all European 3G networks use. The Verizon model doesn't support the same 4G bands as UK 4G networks. The AT&T one does, although I'm not particularly bothered since 4G isn't even supported by my network yet (giffgaff) and 3G feels plenty fast enough to me.

Can anyone spot any flaws with my research? If I stick to a Verizon or AT&T model will I be ok, or is there a chance I'll effectively end up with a 2G-only device? :p

Are you still liable for customs charges for used phones? Are there any other pitfalls I haven't considered? Help me, OcUK Motomasters and Powerebayers!

I tried them both, but ended up with the white - preffered it for some reason.

You say the screen is better on the N5, but actually prefer the screen on the Moto-X I though at first i'd miss the extra pixels, but in day to day use i tend not to notice.

Agree about the speak clarity and volume though - much much better on the Moto-X

The only thing i wish it had is Qi Charging, but its not a deal breaker.

I still need to take some comparison pics between the tow and post them up, but life got in the way over weekend.

still 50/50 on what to do

moto x been out for a while now and moto x 2 will be out this year

may not be the best idea to sell my nexus 5 and buy moto x so late in its life (imo)

i like my phone to hold their price a little for when i sell them on

I've got a similar dilemma. My HTC Sensation is well past it's use-by date, but I don't want to change until the new versions of the Moto G & X come out to see which one suits me best. The only indicated timescale though is 'late summer' :(

What made you go for the white out of interest ?

fancied a change from black tbh mate
