Belgium land of chocolate
Was in our fine Capital for a couple of days this weekend and like being a tourist there but have to say there are just too many people.

Too many people.

Everywhere you go there's someone coming towards you bumping you etc.

Not to mention the unpleasant smells off of a lot of tube patrons. Man some people can't half stink.

Anyone else think it could do with another plague to reduce the numbers.

Feel sorry for those that have to wade through it every day.

I do realise the irony of my post since I was there as a visitor thus adding to the chaos.

Perhaps I've lived in the land of chocolate too long :D

I hate London, I shall never understand why anyone would willingly live there.
Usually if I have to travel there on business it's under protest.

I mean it stinks, it's expensive (five quid for a pint? what?), you can't drive so you have to take **** smelling public transport which is also expensive, a 1 bed flat costs more than a mansion in the cotswolds, it's full of criminals and especially violent gang related stuff, there's people begging for money wherever you go, no one seems to have time for a chat on the bus - it's all distant and impersonal. Not to mention you can't just think "I'll go for a nice walk" and pop down to the local field, no, the nearest patch of grass is miles away and probably covered in dog turds and hoodys.

Horrendous place.

This is one thing that has become more prevalent these days. Some people should be dry cleaned as they come through the ticket barrier.

Yes, I'm sure the people of London hope a plague hits tourists sometime soon :p

Tbh, there are a lot of people, but that's what makes it what it is. It's a city.

I quite enjoy it when I go down to London, it's nice to be in the hussle and bussle for a bit.
I'm not sure I'd want to live there though.

When you say London you mean Oxford street/Piccadilly/Soho/Covent garden areas ?? Cos i lived there 30+ years and other than tube and rail stations in peak hours thats the only place where i feel swamped by a human tidal wave.

I'm moving to London in a months time.......

I don't normally like crowds either, what have I done!!!

My move is probably 2 years away so I don't feel it as much as yourself.
I suppose having a few friends in London will soften the blow of the sheer number of people I will have to face when I eventually go down there.

I've been to Belgium plenty of times now and your chocolately land of yummy goodness has its flaws too! You guys leave amazing architecture to rot once abandoned (to my benefit :p) and also haven't revamped many of your towns as they still look like the industrial places they once were, drab and grey

Don't even get me started on the state of your roads.

How'd you like them apples eh!

But on the subject of London, I visit friends/family often but would never live there. Living there means owning a car is a bit silly given you can't drive very far without constant start/stop traffic and it's too noisy and busy. I like living down South by the sea. The air is just better and the views nicer.

Who/ what is that?

Where do you live?
If some random guy started talking to me on the bus, I'd assume he was a nutter.
I live in Swindon but I've lived all over the UK and London is by far the worst for it.

I mean you don't lean into the person next to you and ask them what kind of underwear they're wearing but make a little small talk, christ.
