too many people in London

It's all part of The Great Forced Multicultural Experiment.

I hope you felt suitably Enriched by meeting people from cultures that don't consider regular bathing important.

Hard to tell who was stinking I wasn't doing a survey :D

But I love London the whole people thing was a bit tongue in cheek so much to do I think it's an amazing place.

lol got the escalators right all right however that was the problem couldn't go at a decent pace traffic lights every 50 meters ....

London loves its traffic lights.

No problem if you walk close to the kerb and ignore them. (yes, still alive and walking fast) :p

So casual racism is now allowed on overclockers

Looking at your 'location' your ignorant bigoted post was rather predictable

Don't really see the problem, I don't actually think it's that busy unless you're going to the big tourist areas, been Oxford Street once or twice and will never ever go again it's ****ing crazy.

Maybe you should stop taking busses through Tower Hamlets. Central London is nothing like that. The tubes rarely smell, there is very little crime (or at least I've never seen any), very few beggers, the tube is cheap, efficient and gets you where you want to go quicker than a car (or at least a taxi). I'll admit, prices are horrendous, but then that's in part due to the density and prosperity of the area...

There are many reasons not to like London (I work here and don't like it), however almost all of the reasons you mention aren't relevant for most of London... It's like the moaning about black snot. Never had it and never known anyone that's had it... Maybe I don't go round sniffing taxi exhausts though! (Again, the air quality is horrible and I firmly believe more cars, vans and taxis should be banned from many parts of central London, at least during the day, doesn't mean you get black snot)
I pretty much only ever travel in central London.

Wouldn't walk round it at night thats for sure, and the tube is disgusting it stinks and it's expensive unless you've got an oyster card and always packed with sweaty people at peak hours. I'd rather live somewhere I can drive or walk to everywhere.

Always seem to get someone asking "bruv you got some money for the bus innit?" when I go there as well.

Shock-horror as Londoners defend London.
Lived there for 14 years, hate ever having to go back. Can name several cities in the UK that are better.
Can think of even more around the world.
Great public transport?! Just lol. Dirty, over crowded, old and strike ridden.

When did you last use the public transport system? It's had so much investment, it's improved massively over the past few years.

Have you actually been to other cities? London is an unfriendly, polluted ****hole compared to actual nice cities like Barcelona.

Yes I have - Some of my favourite cities I've been to (none of which when you weigh everything up are as good as London) listed below

New York
Boston
Las Vegas
Vancouver
Berlin
Stockholm
Amsterdam

I absolutely loved all of the above, however they just cannot compete with London. New York and Vancouver come close.

Are you trolling suggesting Barcelona as a better city than London? Of all the places you could possibly suggest, you suggest the lastminute.com long weekend bargain bin city filled with pick pockets. Barcelona looks nice, and that’s about it for cryn out loud.

Dis86, it’s not a matter of Londoners defending London. Every naive stupid comment against the city has been debunked in this thread by people with common sense. What are the several other cities in the UK that you say are better and also what others around the world?

It's common knowledge that London has one of the best public transport systems in the world. That’s not an opinion, that’s just how it is. The fact that you apparently lived here for 14 years and don't realise that is laughable. Dirty? No... Old? Yea sure, all the brand spanking new Victoria, Metropolitan, District tubes, London Overground, Cross Rail and brand new buses....no... Overcrowded? Only in morning and evening rush hour otherwise absolutely no....Strike ridden? Are you basing this on the annual Christmas period 1 day tube strike threat? If so 'just lol.'

Was in our fine Capital for a couple of days this weekend and like being a tourist there but have to say there are just too many people.

It's been like that for donkeys years, ever since I began travelling into 'town' over 30 years ago as an office junior. I quite liked going there back then but not now. I've lost all interest now, as purchases I could only get by going into London (Tottenham Court Road/Oxford street in particular for CD's in the Mid 1980's) I can now buy online.

As others have said here the West End/tourist spots are too crowded & you are treated like a Sardine in the tube at peak times, I could say the same about Paris as well on the couple of occasions I've been there.

Old and dirty public transport? Try the Paris metro, I never appreciated the cleanliness of the tube until I did.

HE may just be basing it off the "london underground" song lol

Why is this a problem?

It's scary and threatening to be surrounded by people unlike you, speaking foreign languages.

I don't expect that in my own country that is historically white British and english speaking. Are you telling me I need to leave my own home country, just to feel like I fit in?

Why is this not allowed to be a problem?

You went to France expecting no bodily odour?

That's like going to Italy and being surprised there's pasta, they're famous for it man.

I'm sure last time you went on holiday you learnt the language, I bet you even blacked up a bit.

Maldito extranjeros eh?
