whats the deal with this boycott firefox over the CEO gay rights stance

It's a fair comment. Marriage is a religious affair. The religion they want to get married under doesn't accept gay. How can they even want to be married when they are already excluded from the religion anyway? Seems like the gay people are trying to force it on principle to ram it down the religious folks throats;, so to speak.

It sounds like you are not accepting the other sides argument enough to appreciate how it is discrimination. If someone believe marriage is only between a man and women and they think that is what makes it special. By removing the right of that person to experience that, he is being discriminated against.

I'm a married agnostic. It's not religious, it's legal.

Using the term "natural family" is supposed to give a sense that this is that natural and righteous way of life. There is nothing more natural about a more traditional nuclear family over any other type of family. The only reasons they want to get married is to feel more accepted and to get legal status, it has nothing to do with a family per se. This is where i come from with the argument about it diminishing the importance of the natural family. A lot of people don't care for the better meant of society as whole and only care about their personal interest.

What a load of crap. It's important that children are brought up in a loving family, the make up of that is less important.

You're correct in that it's not the average thing however it is natural, 100s of other species of animals have been witnessed to have homosexual relationships. I don't know of anyone who is demanding churches etc to perform same sex marriages, but marriage is something that should be an equal right. It's like saying people who are left handed can't get married :rolleyes:

But homosexuality is actually quite common in a few species. Not just the human race. When you talk about the "norm" you're getting philosophical. And if that's the case, the debate will simply go in pretentious circles.

Of course we can. Marriage was invented so that children would be raised within the natural family environment. Its not rocket science. Only people who do not hold the natural family as important would come out with something so ridiculous.

Well we have a difference of opinion. I think the make up is important you obviously don't see the importance of the natural family. Which is quite common with people of your ideology.
 
Actually I'm pretty sure that marriage started as a way of a man showing off his wife :confused: So it's was more bragging rights than wedlock etc
