Delivery man inside the house...

My postman used to open my door and put parcels inside. It never bothered me and i was grateful that I didnt have to mess about getting it redelivered.

It would have been better if he'd left a 'Sorry you weren't home' card in your hallway instead.

how long did you take to answer the door, did he get sick of waiting, he probably has to average 30 seconds per drop off or something silly? and thought, doors open, chuck it in the hall, job done.

My local delivery guys dont even ring the doorbell if its before 10am, they all know I work until 2-3 in the morning so just leave it in the garage a stick a note through the door.

On other days after 10, they get tea / coffee / biscuits / cold drinks to go if they want. Give a little, get a little.

You need to get a door handle that means the door can't be opened from the outside without the key, otherwise you could end up with a hallway full of Jehovah's witnesses.

This happened to me once I was a very happy man as otherwise would have had to wait till Monday to get my delivery wish royal mail would do it instead of just looking at the house and carding me even when I am sat in the living room

They probably saw what you looked like and that's why you got carded :p

Did he leave anything else? A reminder of what could have been, of love lost, of poor decisions and when you find the photograph you catch yourself sobbing, deflated and defeated and wish that you'd said yes when he asked you to prom?

I've never experienced it before and was very surprised to be honest...

Would you rather he didn't deliver it?

He probably thought the door led to a porch.

I don't have time to **** around with redelivery or collection, I'd rather they made every effort to ensure I got the parcel .

I've got no problem with them opening my porch and leaving stuff in there but it would definitely be a bit weird if they left them inside my hallway mainly because the only way to open my front door is with a key.

Mount a cauldron full of boiling oil above the door with a piece of string that runs to your cardboard castle that you can hide in.

A lot of my parcels are left in the porch, its such a sticky door, a right pain to open, most people think its locked, which is good... and bad.

Door locked or not, this is totally unacceptable. I'd be surprised if it's not in their contract saying that they can't entire properties without permission - lots of residences, and especially businesses - don't lock their front doors when they're in. That doesn't mean anyone has the right to waltz in and do whatever.
