Star Trek: TNG

Looking at your list, these may not be up your street but some of my favorite series:

Battlestar Galactica
Falling Skies
Firefly
Smallville
Arrow
Fringe

Mostly Sci-Fi or Comic Book related like so nothing like the ones you list. But could be worth a look

fringe is on my too watch list on Netflix started watching series 1 ages ago enjoyed it

does arrested development get better? watched around 4 episodes and thought it was utter drivvle nothing really seemed to happen

Fringe series 1 - 3 is brilliant. It's like a rebooted X files on acid at first but then goes off on one in a big way. Series 4 and 5 go off track to be honest, but I have to say its a fantastic watch as a whole and Is well worth the commitment. I actually watched the very last episode today, so it's resonating with me!

Actually, as I mentioned x files, that has to get a strong plug, although again it really went off the boil towards the end.

I love American tv series but compared to our tv stuff they really do suffer from cashcowitas and don't know when to call it a day. The writers/ producers seem to value cash above script integrity.

House of Cards - With Kevin Spacey who brilliant in it and I'm absolutely hooked. Never thought I'd get into it but its fantastic. Political/Thriller, if you like this trailer you will love it.

Still watching my seasons 1-10 boxset of Stargate SG-1 that I got last year :p

List of boxsets that I'd want to get soon are:
- Breaking Bad
- Sopranos
- Boardwalk Empire (I've seen series 1 and 2 though; this is still going isn't it? In that case, I may hold off until an entire collected boxset releases)
- Luther
- Stargate: Atlantis

And at some point, I'd love to get a boxset of Neon Genesis Evangelion, never properly sat down and watched it other than the first couple of eps and what I saw I loved.

Another vote for House of Cards.

I'm also late to Homeland. Watched series 2 episode 4 or 5 last night and it had a scene that had both me and the missus hardly breathing. After we both just looked at each other and went "Wow!", one of the most powerful bits of TV we've seen.

Currently watching:
- Prison Break
- The Shield
- Blue Bloods
- Hawaii 5-0
- Walking Dead
- Boardwalk Empire
- Sons of Anarchy

Keep meaning to try and finish off TnG again (2 seasons left) and then I may think about Voyager. Fancy cracking out the Stargate stuff again but that's a lot of viewing!

Been signed off work for a few weeks after a little operation so I've been devouring stuff.

In the past 6 weeks
Hawaii 5-0
Brooklyn 9-9
Arrow
Continuum
The Tudors
Dresden Files
Comic Book Men
DS9 (well got to the end of the week to finish it and 10 episodes left to go)
TNG (though tbh I was picking and choosing episodes here, even during the top seasons there's a lot of meh episodes)

Not many programs that have 178 episodes that can get away without having any that are a little meh though.

There are certainly some filler episodes in most programs. Some might say there are some programs that have filler seasons!

Brooklyn 9-9
Worth a watch?

Criminal Minds is the only one I can see that hasn't been mentioned but that might be because everybody else thought it was *****.

I managed about 5 minutes of it and was falling asleep. maybe I should give it another go

lol yes, you need to give it more than 5min's but I'm sure you won't regret it. It's 9.0 on IMDB and very much like The Wire (dare I say) in how deep the storey goes and twists and turns.

True enough, but when TNG & DS9 were the two treks I was watching it comes off worse for it, it's high points are the best of trek, but it's normal episode to episode level just wasn't that great.

(Brooklyn Nine Nine) Worth a watch?

I wouldn't go out of my way to get it, but it's worth a look when it shows up on one of the VoD services.

McCleod's Daughters

Started watching it before I went to Australia and have to finish it now!
