Hi All,
So picked a PS4 up yesterday and my TV shows some horrible ghosting on Fifa 14.
Current TV is a Sony Bravia KDL-32BX300, so just want a replacement which really shows off the PS4 (also have a Apple TV and Sky Box hooked up).
Don't care about Smart TV/wifi/Freeview, any suggestions?

What is your budget?

Anything up to £500

The Sony Bravia KDL42W653 is the set to own. Really want it myself for the ps4 but can't justify the upgrade at the moment.

Budget is around £400 could stretch to £500 if need be.
Lovely looking TV however 42'' wouldn't fit (my 32 just fits now lol)

It has a really thin Bezel mind. Might be worth looking up the size specs and having a measure, It's pretty much all screen. You won't find a better gaming tv for the money.

W x H x D
Approx. 95.4 x 59.5 x 19.7 cm

Unlikely to fit, but not sure on how much space you have.

There is a 32ich version at about £400 online.

yeah had a measure up, would hang over my test of draws by about a foot lol :)
Do you have a model number of the 32'' version?

KDL32W653

Can be had online under £400.

Not sure on replacement, but going to google for that now as it's the tv I want.

Do you know the model of replacement ps3ud0?

Edit. Found it,

The W7

Not really worth the extra £150. Very slight appearance change, 2 more hdmi ports and extra usb. Response time is very marginally better 1ms. Of course the w6 will be out of stock soon.

Samsung 32" upwards 5500 smart tv range, fantastic tv for the price, £300 or less for the 32" model, very thin bezel , very good quality tv for the prices, I've got both the 32" and 42", they also did a 39" and a whopping 60" version

Already found for £600 so hopefully it will hit £550 sooner rather than later - was gonna get the 653 but need more than 2 HDMIs...

Thanks all, some nice TV's!
Can get the KDL32W653 for £300 and the newer KDL32W705B for £414. The UE32F5500 is £319.
Annoying that the 653 only has 2 HDMI ports (currently have 4 on mine which are all used).
But is it really worth an extra £114 for some cable swapping?

I only use 1 hdmi as I use a AV receiver. So I guess I don't see the value in extra ports, but then I understand why some people will. Will keep an eye on the W7 :)

I purchased the UE42F5500 - not sure if this is now discontinued a week after I moved out when I split with the missus last year, didn't research much into TV's when I got it, but I managed to by blind luck IMO get a stonking telly at the time. I didn't even know it had smart features until I turned it on. I got it as I had been left with nothing after we split and just walked into the shop, and said I'll have that one with intentions to replace it once I was settled.. it was just an amazing set, that when I wanted another TV for upstairs bedroom, I just went with a UE32F5500 without any more thought at all and the 42" in the living room will not be replaced as its been that solid..

My PS4 on the UE42F5500 looks fantastic... But its only got 3 HDMI ports, 2 USB ports but does have RJ45, wifi and component.

The only thing with Samsung HDTVs is that they have a tendency to change panel manufacturers at a drop of a hat dependent on the screen size - so a good 32" doesnt always mean a equally good 42" and with Samsung that 32" might have a few panel suppliers so you have to hope you get the one thats good.

Enough to make it a minor hassle if you dont get the right combination...

And that, as I did say is down to my lack of research as I didn't know this, but both my 42" and 32" are equally IMO as good as each other, but have provided me with excellent picture quality and superb blacks as far as my eyes can tell. i'm no panel expert mind, but I previously had a Panasonic Plasma before I moved out from the missus and I felt that panel was amazing.. Both my Samsung's have given that Panasonic a good run..

Sony LCD's have some of the best response times, something which the Samsung TVs struggle to get near, even when using game mode. Just something to consider of you play online FPS.

Yeah, if you want better blacks, avoid the IPS panels. They have better viewing angles and deal with motion a bit better but their blacks are more Gray than the AUO or Samsung S-PVA panels.

Have you had a look through the menu's and seen a Game mode?

Lots of tv's have game mode which you should use when playing games.
