Alright folks, just a quick question regarding LAN parties.

Do people still have these for PC gaming? Has anyone attended any? What was the experience like?

LAN parties are great as long as the person incharge is organised when catering for large groups. You want most of the people playing together otherwise the group all go off on their tangents and it grows old fast.

Haven't been to oine since the local LAN centre closed down. Miss that place.
was planning on doing a small one in my place in the future, all nighter infact, just because they were so fun in the LAN centre with the "bring your own PC if you can" rule

Been doing the same small scale LAN party pretty much every night for the last week where I am involving 5 or 6 of us, it's good fun!

The larger ones such as the Insomnia festivals are brilliant though!

Loving the 2 replies from Scottish members ha! :D

I've just noticed a sort of e-Cafe which supports a LAN night and it can be hired out. Have emailed them to see about prices etc.

Would really like to get involved in one and bring a few friends along. We usually play BLOPS 2, but the big discussion is that some people have a better net connection than the other so we want to level the playing field :-)

Me and my brother often have small scale lan parties, the max we ever had was 6 though! a lot of good fun though, its a shame that there aren't that many new games that support LAN co-op play!

The last LAN part we did we played Arma 3 and streamed it live on Twitch!

Last LAN I went to was hosted by a clan I used to be in with about 25-30 people at a rugby club. Was great fun.

Doing my first Insomnia next week!

Last one we did was a Wow/Starcraft II LAN.. although, not strictly LAN.. but you get the idea!

Thinking about hosting a small one in my Man Cave when the new WoW Expo is released!

Went to a few small-ish ones around 12 years ago. A few of us TA players from Wireplay got together and organised a few weekend events for around 30 people. Awesome, awesome fun. I can't imagine the big ones being as good (although admit I've never been to one)

I'm hoping the company email me back soon with the details I asked for. Would be good to get even 6-10 of us together for a night and just go for it. We all have basically the same set of games to play, so would just need to make sure that everyone has them installed prior to playing :D

If anyone fancies playing any of the CoD Series please add me on steam. Also play quite a few other games as well. We have been steamrollering a few teams on CoD Blackops 2 lately on PC so get involved people :D

TitanFall, CS:GO, Pro Evo, Fifa 14(PS4)

I'll add you up on Origin, Glasgow here too, only ever did a few small lan parties but I remember them being good fun.

At least one whole night was a massive Total Annihilation game.

No probs at all :D

Used to love TA.. My first ever online experience was actually playing AvP on Wireplay. Was a nightmare to set up at the time, but it was awesome to play! Hiding in a dark corridor as an Alien and whipping my tail down to humans ha!

Sounds good to me :D I've only just got into titanfall. Only been playing Titration at the moment, hoping a few more of my friends get involved with it, as it seems really fun :D
