mumsnet 0 - heartbleed 1

Is that the forum where they use acronyms every other word, so you have no idea what they are going on about?

I still don't know what this mumsnet is, and never really think to check it out, just sounds like a website full of young prey hunting down hot mums

It's a place where "mums" i.e. females with children, socialize with other mums online, also colloquially knows as the "net".

Should I actually be changing all my passwords?

Yes. Quite a few services weren't affected because they weren't using exploitable versions (for instance, hilariously, Microsoft wasn't affected since it doesn't use OpenSSL) but you should change all of them just to make sure. You don't know what the underlying server architecture is/was and whether or not they were using exploitable versions. A server might have been running FreeBSD 10 and been affected. But a server running FreeBSD 9.2 wouldn't have been affected. A server running Debian Wheezy would be affected, but one running Debian Squeeze wouldn't.

As it is, most have probably issued patches to non-exploitable versions. So changing passwords is good practice. I've done it for all of mine. Even the Windows ones, despite not having needed to.

Mumsnet: It's like OcUK except it's women who have an interest in families rather than men who like computers*.
Yes, it has some total lunatics, but the same can be said about here.

*With some obvious exceptions as you get on all forums.

Tbh i'm not changing anything unless a site I use announces they may have been hacked because of this. I have far too many passwords on far too many sites to go through and change them.

what i know about mumsnet: they hate men, despise mothers who struggle with any aspect of raising a child, they dont like pistonheads, they like post coital (not sure about spelling) beakers

So it's a female version of the Daily Mail?
Indeed.

Reading the relationship section is ridiculously addictive but bear in mind that when threads regarding affairs arise they fall into two categories:

1. Man has affair - complete **** just wants to get his leg over with anyone or anything since you're too tired raising his kids. He's tried his best to hide the affair to save his skin, all men are *******s.

2. Woman has affair - poor woman, obviously her husband doesn't do enough around the house or isn't fulfilling her needs. If her husband isn't aware of the affair keep quiet, the guilt you're feeling is punishment enough for being unfaithful.

good point made on this is not to use the same password for everything you use.
i tend to have 8 different passwords i use, with 4 that only get used for one thing such as email address, facebook, online banking, paypal and applestore.. rest are broken down into how safe i need something/regard it with one i use specifically for sites where money can be used and another for forums and the last for sites i feel are a risk..
when it comes to changing passwords you should never have to change your main passwords as they have never been used elsewhere, and the ones that could be at risk to things like this arnt linked to important stuff so its no biggie to change really.

thats just my philosophe on it im sure others may disagree
