You'll Need a Burly PC to Run Watch Dogs at Ultra Settings

Its gonna be a shoddy port tbh who really expects anything else from ubi boobi?

you got it in one.

Ubisoft, one of most hated companys to do with games always a buggy mess.

looked cool at first then realized who is behind it then seen all the behind scenes stuff and how basically changed a lot of cool stuff to **** stuff. wont be buying.

also there is a thread on this from other week pue by one of admins/dons i think.

thing is with specs and games it means nothing !

look at call of duty ghosts for eg :D run like dog**** on highest spec people but still looks and plays like dog**** :D

The Ubihate is strong with some people.
I admit that AC4 had badly optimized PC version - it lacked triple buffering so to get 60fps I had to get D3D Overrider, and even then it was very demanding. But aside from optimization, PC version was fantastic.
Ghost Recon Future Soldier had similar HW optimization issues so I had to turn some settings down, but 1080p/60fps was achievable, and apart from that, it was a good PC version.

AC 1/2/3/Rev/Brotherhood were all running great on my PC. So were FarCry 1/2/3. So was Beyond good and Evil. So were all 5 Prince of Persia games. So was Lost. So did all Brothers in Arms games. All three Call of Juarez games, fantastic on PC. Dark Messiah, ditto. Heroes of Might and Magic, Might and Magic X, all Rayman games, all Splinter Cell games - fantastic on PC!

Seriously, Ubisoft is not perfect, some games do not run perfectly, but vast majority of ubisoft PC games is absolutely running great and the hate they get is irrational. And unlike some other companies, Ubisoft actually releases pretty much all their games on PC.
So I am perfectly willing to give them benefit of the doubt when it comes to Watch Dogs. Already preordered did for 28 dollars on Origin. My 2500K + 280X combo will handle the game just fine at 1080p/60fps at great details I am sure. I do not need 16*MSAA and similar useless powerhungry features.

Not really. I hate them because they are basically turning every game in to the same thing, which is basically following a dot on a radar to get to an on-rails piece of 'gameplay' probably ending in a QTE.

I will get Watch Dogs, but don't expect it to be anything more than their usual open world, with lots of needless and obtrusive restrictions. They are taking games a massive step backwards imo.

I think as most people I will wait for the reviews...

It looks good and may be one of the games to finally get me to commit to XFIRE or an upgrade but... If it's not a good game then it's a waste of time.

You should play some newer games :P

Name some :P

Honestly though, sure some I have to turn the AA down to x2 or x4 or just leave it on TXAA. But other than that, ultra settings all the way.

I don't know if I will notice any difference if I were to upgrade.

My i7 920 still handles fine, just need to upgrade my 6950 :o
The HD6950 works exceptionally well if you flash the BIOS, enabling you to unlock the shaders to 6970 level for a count of 1536 and raise the GPU/Mem clocks to 880/1375MHz, before chucking it and getting a 780 Lightning instead!!

Well, it worked for me, anyway... :D

GTX 560 here, hopefully will run on minimum, may have to start saving for something with more juice!

I just found this thing in my PC, will it run it ok? :p

Glad I found this thread. I have a GTX580 right now. Been thinking of upgrading for a while now and this thread has made my mind up. I'll be ordering a GTX780 from OCUK soon as I want this game maxed with a decent FPS. It'll stretch my budget, but hey, you only live once. :D
