Heyy.
So what do you guys concider a safe operating temperature when your graphics card is under load?
60? 70? 80??

Well guess what i just clocked mine sitting at!!
Still 100% running fine too.. Did not cut off or anything..

Nvidia Geforce 9800gt 512mb Overclocked to the nuts on stock cooler

When on BF4 the most i have seen mine at is 67c ...but that is with the cooling fans put to 45%...but usually sits at about 61c max...but that of course does depend on my living room ambient temperature

67c, it hits 69c sometimes. i think the highest i would let it get to is 80c, no chance of that happening.

R9 290.

As long as it's silent and no throttling i dont really care :)
Though it was a shock when i went from a chiller to ambient :o Seeing idle temps higher than load temps took a while to get used to :p

Depends on the model and brand, though my personal preference is around 90 or under. My card at the moment seldom goes higher than 70 on auto, so no worries there.

Most mine has ever reached on auto fan is 71c, under a custom profile its 65c, still nice and quiet too.

Hd 7950 oc to the maximum msi afterburner offers +20% extra power. I use my own custom fan preset aswell, my card idles around 65c with the fan just at 20% (silent) then at 75c fan is about 30% which is still very quiet can barely tell any different though in sound. My card under load is about 72c maximum, heavy load around 76c . And between my 30% fan setting at 75c my fan setting is 100% at 85c would be worried if it went any higher than that but it never gets past 76c ever.

both my 7950s under extreme load reach maximum 58c and 64c and at those temps fan profile hits 60% to keep them there. 58c is my bottom card and 64c is my top card.

If mine reaches 85c then i'll keep an eye on it. 90c and i'd probably take the side panel off.

Was playing BF4 for a few hours the other day and my room was toasty and it hit 81c on one core and 71c on the other. That's about as hot as it gets.

Get a little uneasy when my cards break 45c :p

As do I. Don't like it, if either of them get above 45, but with ambient temps being a few degrees warmer this time of the year, they can occasionaly touch 50 if both are under 100% load.

That screenshot...

There is no way I would want any component that hot anywhere near my pc lol.

I dread to think what my graphics cards used to idle at before I became more aware. I remember pluggin it in, closing up the case, and that was it. No temp monitoring or anything!
