I got back in eventually, when the match I was in ended (and lost). It would try to reconnect but crash when the map loading bar was about a quarter of the way through (Marinovka). I then lost the next 5 in a row as well, but that's another matter!
 
I can't get over people not understanding Historical battles :confused:, virtually every Kursk I've played KV1-S drivers raging because they haven't got their derp gun :rolleyes:

Playing an SU-85 as an SU-122 is certainly an eye opening difficult experience ;) :D
 
FPS has dropped really bad on my work PC, it's an I7-3770 + 6950. At home it's still stable at 60fps for most of it on a I5-4670k & 290. I found turning down vegetation density or whatever it's called really helped, then just the usual no effects in sniper etc.

Some of the maps lighting looks really bad now, mainly the sun rise ones where a really clear light shines on the very low polly and textured buildings. But tanks blowing up clearly makes up for it :D

What tank were you driving? There's apparently an issue with the Hellcat at the moment, where it will crash the game while playing one.

Failing that go to Run and type: %appdata%\Wargaming.net and delete all the files in there. It will completely reset your config, but should fix some outstanding issues...

It was the Alecto. It crashed mid map on Malinovka and then I couldn't get back in whilst that match was still running. It was fine once that round had finished.
 
Hows the grind these days? Thought i might have go with the 9.0 update as looks cool. I used to like the game but after premium ran out i kinda hated the grind as it took longer without it. Think even the lowe got a nerf after being a good cash collector which was a bummer after paying for it thinking nah they wouldnt nerf it would they.

Whats the games like these days, is it still quite a mismatch in tiers or is it better? Whats platooning like these days? How is the clan these days? Also whats the tanks like to play these days, has it changed much or pretty much the same as it was when i was playing a few years ago?
 
oh it's still a grind, always will be, well if all you're doing is always looking to get the next tank or rush to a tier 9 or 10.

MM is still pretty similar I think from a couple of years ago, most tanks will see games with tanks up to 2 tiers higher or up to 2 tiers lower. Matching on player skill is still missing so you can end up with teams of better players destroying teams of worse players. For win rates a bad player is like 45%, average is 50% and really good is only about 60%, so the range of games a good player wins over a bad player really isn't that much, 1 1/2 games extra over 10 games played.

Things that have changed, less Arty's as they had a nerf which has meant that there are more TD's as they can be easy and safe to play ie camping tactics. So you can still get shot for large amounts of health from an invisible opponent. Auto loaders are also pretty popular so don't get caught out alone against one :p

Basically don't take a game with random match making too seriously and just load it up occasionally to have some tanky fun and you'll enjoy it.
 
Had 2 quick goes on it. Gfx is nice but not sure which filter i should be using, what is considered the best or what most people use? I died quick in my lowe but did better in my kv13.

Sounds and gfx have really improved. Its like a fresh game now. Garage still the same dull screen tho. :/

Is there any slots open to rejoin the clan at all or not as i was removed for inactivity which is fine but if i play it more often it would be nice to play with some of you again.

Least the fps is solid 60 the few battles i tried with vsync on and max details cept motion blur which is turned right down as i hate that in games.

Matchmaking is better than what it was at the start of the game where as a Tier 6 you would see T9. Now its just +/- 2. The game is better in some ways and worse in others. Premium ammo can now be bought for credits which can nullify some tanks that rely on armour. The game also (imho) badly needs some form of proper matchmaking or balancing of the teams.

We have 94 people currently in the clan, 100 is the max. Do you want an invite?

I don't use any of the filters, but each to their own. I like the new sounds as well, the graphics have steadily been improving since I started playing the game, so how long have you not been playing?

In answer to your first post, the tiers are much better matched against each other than they used to be. In the old days you'd have to fight E75s in a T34-85 which you struggled even to pen, at least now most tanks can pen most tanks they put up against.

There are tier 10 TDs now sadly, as they are generally pretty overpowered, though they were nerfed slightly 2 patches ago, which improved things a little.

Overall the game itself is much better than it used to be, much improved in most aspects, but unfortunately the player base has probably worsened, as the game has become better-known to the masses.

6th sense for commander is almost always a good pick. For lights and sneaky TD's cammo, for medium, heavies and brawler TD's mechanic is always solid. After that not really sure :p I've not got many fully skilled crews.
 
Ive had a few crashes to desktop, but that was running the latest Nvidia betas,
no crashes since 335.23.
It doesn't look all that much different to me just a little more detail, of all the tanks i have the M103 seems to had quite a makeover.
 
Clan question

I am interested in joining the Clan, I mostly play early mornings due to working night shifts. On my rest days I play evenings. Is there any particular requirements for joining, i.e must play on this day, at this time. I am unable to do this due to my shift pattern etc.

There is a teamspeak server that people often use when plattoning and there are rumoured to be company battles when enough people are a) online and b) sober enough.
