Greenlizard0 Weekend Football Thread ** spoilers ** [18th April - 22nd April 2014]

I think he needs a real chance of getting in ALL the players he wants, which he was never going to be able to do last summer or during the season.

(I would say that about any manager that was chosen with the same current record)

Wouldn't be such a big problem if he was able to 1) motivate players and 2) coach players how to attack. He can't do either.

Saying any manager coming in needs to bring in lots of his own players is a ridiculous statement. So far he's taken the champions by 11 points last season, added what, £70m odd worth of players, and now we're a total mess.

It's beyond a joke, astonishing really.

Even if we add unrealistically good transfer targets to our squad (Kroos, Reus, whoever), I still think we'll struggle badly because he's simply the wrong manager.

If we are indeed stuck with him next season, then I hope I'm horribly wrong.

I'd agree with all of the above , but doesn't it show how good Fergie was? The players that won the league by 11 points last year bar the obvious 2 or 3 are simply average and fergie dragged every last ounce of talent out of them.

And half that investment didnt arrive until 1/2 way through the season when a lot of the damage was already done.

a lot of the players where not playing for the manager earlier in the season, they just couldnt be bothered. That is still being reflected in our league position. Thats nothing to do with Moyes

And Fergie signed every one of them, and knew each player inside out. They also WANTED to play for Fergie for every season, which was obviously not the case earlier this season.

Half of that investment was blown on Sideshow.

How is keeping him going to change the players attitude?

It does show that as well, yes. Fergie was magnificent, and Moyes is poor.

And with that investment we're looking even worse. :o

Now for his post match interview that will no doubt enrage me further...

Superb performance. United had nothing. Moyes outclassed tactically by Martinez once again. COYB!

But Mata has hardly made a difference, he's looked completely lost half the time.

Moyes outsmarted by Martinez, given United's **** home form and inability to break teams down he just got Everton to sit back, let United have the possession and tear them apart on the counter. Child's play.

It's almost like Moyes is unable to motivate, lead and "manage" his team?

It's almost like Moyes is unable to motivate, le.. hey wait!!1 ;)

Bet Everton fans are absolutely jumping for joy now, seeing just how badly Moyes was holding them back last season and the seasons before. Added bonus is doing the double over them as well:p.

Good day of footie though, Liverpool getting closer to that title they havent won for 24 yrs now, Arsenal getting closer to our 4th place trophy and Utd showing how utterly inept they have become under Agent Moyes:p

#Moyesout??:D

I really don't get all this talk about Moyes being poor, tactically this season has been brilliant, this is by far his best season as an Everton manager, he's pushed them on, had his best season for them financially and in the transfer market.

SEriously though what is this nonsense from Neville in the second half and now the commentators banging on about simple direct football. They show the second goal and say it's a direct ball in behind. It's a throughball after what 6-7 passes up the field. The entire Utd defence is there and they passed through them. Everton played varied football today, yes they hit long balls to Lukaku but to make out that everything they did was a long ball to Lukaku is just utter nonsense. Everton varied their play with almost every attack. Some long, some short, some moments of holding the ball, some passing moves forward. When Utd were going to play that way they certainly maximised the best way to play against them, sit back more and win the ball and counter, so what.

To call it simple over and over again is really doing Everton a disservice.

Carragher is spot on, Utd have no plan at all. Last season I was happy to stand by Rodgers as it was clear what we were trying to achieve, despite finishing 7th. I have no idea what Moyes is doing, and I don't think he does either.
