*** The Official BlackBerry Z10 & Q10 Thread ***

Well with the new 10.1 the fonts or size of fonts have become smaller, whatsapp now has its own heading in the hub. Not sure about twitter as again i dont use it all that much, i have blaq which is a much better twitter client imho and worth the £2 or so it costs.

As for facebook??, i dont use it...only time i use it is on my laptop or pc at work and even then i log on maybe once every few weeks...i actually hate facebook so try to avoid using it as much as possible.

Blaq is much better for browsing the timeline, etc. But I still use the twitter integration in the Hub for DMs and replying to mentions. I really liked the consistent look and feel throughout the Hub that 10.0 had and is now broken in 10.1, for no good reason that I can see.

Oh right, like i said i dont use the built in twitter app myself so dont know about the consistent look that you are talking about. I might get the built in twitter app started and see what you are talking about.

Personally i like the new hub, i like the smaller fonts, means you can fit more onto the screen.

If you dont like the 10.1, pretty sure you can downgrade to 10.0 if you want.

Why are you not impressed, Dr House?
I've been rocking the Z10 for 2 months now and the only place I seem to finding it fall short is the App department, but we all knew that

Z10 is already down to 290 at Amazon. Not looking good.

£290? That's still way overpriced! :D

Windows phone 8 flagships are dropping like a brick too, £170 for the HTC 8X, that was £500 6 months ago.

Trouble is, if you're a small software house writing mobile apps, you'd look at the market and who had the biggest share and develop your app to suit, so you get the max roi. If you were a big house, you'd probably not even want to invest the time developing apps for a smaller market, since they want to make as much cash possible..

I think it's fair to say the new phones haven't really turned BlackBerry around, they're better, but it hasn't been enough.

They'll probably just remain focused on businesses and their use for the time being.

Except all the business I know are ditching them and going iPhone/android

The trouble is, blackberry would have to offer something that the competition don't do and that everyone wants. Plus the likes of apple/android have been clever at locking people into a system that its a pain to change, so there would have to be a big puller for people to be bothered to make that change, overall.

How much cash do they have? How long do they have to turn it around?
Wasn't there hints of a buy out recently?

Have they got time and cash to chuck at it.

Charging for data was there biggest downfall as well as not getting a full tech screen out sooner. A lot of people and companies resent paying for BB when others don't, even though 10 doesn't require it.

In all honesty thats the price it should have been sold at from the start...£500 was far too much even for me. For a device that hardly had any apps although now the apps are getting much much better.

Anyhow the latest 10.1 update was released yesterday, got it on my z10 and i have to say im really impressed. Blackberry is listening and are making the changes they need to on the OS. 10.2 which will be the next big OS update will have quite a few new features including toast notifications.

All in all im still happy with my Z10, wont be looking to use any other phone as it does what i want and i have the apps that i need on my z10. Only app im missing and im hoping the developers will bring it soon to BB10 is the jawbone UP app. At the moment ive kept hold of my S3 so that i can still use that app until they bring it over the BB10, which hopefully wont be too long.

Just picked up my Z10 from carphone warehouse, got it for £160 including a £10 voucher for vodafone...

Coming from an EVO 3D with android 4.0 on it, the blackberry OS is an absolute joy to use..

just got me a Z10, and i have to say its an awesome piece of kit, coming from an Optimus G. everything works flawlessly, the BT, multitasking is battery smooth etc. Very nice BB

Miss the keyboard, but I think this it is one of those "if you can't beat them, join them" situations. Everything will be touch devices soon.
