I've been looking at people's threads with the likes of the *AOC Q2770PQU, but I can't find it on OC. Lots of things seem to be going the route of the 4k monitors but the new reasonable priced ones are not ips, where to go what to buy?

Things that are confusing my decisions:

  1. Dell QOS issues
  2. Asus customer service for replacements
  3. Monitors disappeared from sales pages
  4. 4k would need graphics upgrade so pricey
  5. 1440 monitors being replaced by tn 4k

I need best quality colour reproduction and decent resolution, an after thought is wanting to watch films, play eve online and using it for doing degree work, cisco, vm's etc

My budget is as little as possible but to give best results for the money.

So if I can get a 27" 1440 monitor that gives top results for under 500 squid then all is good, but if I can get a 4k monitor for close to this that gives top colour reproduction in comparison to ips screens then that's good too but 1440 seems to be the sweet spot between cost and quality

The polite has many QOS issues and from what I've read it's almost impossible to get a good screen, and the Asus is subject to controversy in another post.

They don't seem to be for sale on OC although the AOC can be found in a rainforest lol come on OC are you going to have them in any time? And at what price?

I have the Dell UltraSharp U2713HM. It's a lovely monitor, there have been some qc issues but if you get a good one you can't go wrong.

Yeah but it's the lottery of getting one, a u2713h would be nice if I knew I could get a perfect one first time. But the *AOC Q2770PQU looks it's equal but at much less pennies which leaves money in the pocket for a Spyder pro or elite

I'd look at a wide gamut monitor such as the Viewsonic VP2772, or the Dell U2713H. Both get awesome feedback for colours and such, not so great for gaming though but shouldn't be a problem for you.

On this subject, With OCUK having the Dell U3014 on sale for £899 I bit the bullet.

Starting the first part of a Photography degree from the OCA soon so I wanted a decent screen.

As an amateur photographer i have just purchased the AOC Q2770pqu ... and its fantastic for image processing ..... spent a lot to time mulling it over which one to buy and glad i got this .... :)
