Also Guardiola's defend from the half way line, get the cb's zero confidence, have the fullbacks too far up to help defensively, leave them crazy vulnerable to the counter attack system.
Now, if you actually create chance after chance after chance at the other end you peg back the opposition and it's okay(to a point) to have the defence so far foward and so weakened. but when you get to the point that you're toothless and create very few chances, like tonight the opposition will feel safer pushing forwards and with that defence they'll make loads of chances.
Utd could have scored 3-4 more quite easily across both legs, particularly the first leg. This system needs to work perfectly, but it's not a good system as Guardiola manages to beat the creativity and drive out of the front players.
They also appear to be Bayern with Messi mk 2. Guardiola has marked Robben as the new Messi, but while a great winger he's a more limited player and a less good goal scorer. Everything goes through Robben like everything used to go through Messi, sooo predictable.
he takes 400-500 shots a year and has never scored over 100.... he misses more often than he scores as do all top players, regardless of the chances. If he gets 3 good chances in a game he'll usually get at least one.
