Awesome names that you never call your kid

I always through American McGee was an odd name.

Why would anyone call their son/daughter American? It's like calling your child "Japan". It's weird.

If I was born a girl my dad wanted to call me storm. That was before X men even existed.

I was however known for my first week of life as kawalski.

Have a friend who intentionally called his son
Chris, not Christopher. Has the surname peacock.

I know of someone called James Pond

And I know/knew someone called Kevin Perry. That was unfortunate.

Not a good name, but thought I'd share it.. There was this one girl in middle school, her name was "Stacy-Ann Macey Stacy", "Stacy Stacy" for the register... What cruel cruel parents

Names over here are awesome, as people just pick whatever English word they like. I've had students called Scar, Simba, Beauty and Horse - the latter being my favourite.

"Why horse, is it a translation of your chinese name?"
"No, it's because my friends say my face looks like a horse"

Even my wife's name, Yaya, brings much Rolling Stones related hilarity, though always makes me think Toure.

subtle this one, but still thought it was awesome,

my nephew is called Conner MacLeod ;)

Dave (not David) - never met a baby called Dave, and wasn't allowed to call either of my boys it either.

Are you sure Storm was named after the X-men character? I know a lot if hippies, especially from the US, who go for names like that.

I was worked with a female US soldier who was called "Summer Rain".

Well timed thread, as I just found out I need to start thinking about baby names!

I've always wanted to name my kid after a character from a Tolkien book if it's a girl: Tinuviel, but I just couldn't do that to the poor kid.
