Less than 3weeks old and my lovely new M135i has been hit.

Crossing over a roundabout and a woman just accelerated straight into my passenger side door as I was just starting to exit the roundabout. Completely didn't look, impacted at rear of pass door, dragged through my rear quater and ripped the bumper off.

And I was ordering a mini 0801 today........

No details at the scene (she didn't know them etc), but have plenty of photos, name address, reg of course. She should hopefully be calling me soon.... I damn hope so.

Never done this before, so I'm gonna call insurer to inform them of accident then try to deal with hers directly, if she calls that is???? Police notified on 101.

Thank god I got GAP last week!

I think the advice is normally to go through a claim handler when it's clear it's not your fault. Bad luck but hopefully you don't end up out of pocket!

Bad luck :(
As a brand new car it's unlikely to be written off so your GAP insurance probably won't help.
It takes a lot of damage to write off a brand new £35k car.

I'm still not able to picture it?

But if her fault then just call your insurance company and go from there.

Gutted for you man.

Keep us informed of how it goes, fingers crossed for a decent outcome for you.

100% her fault.

I was blue car crossing roundabout but a bit further forward as should have been, she was in left lane and just accelerated into my side.

2 lane roundabout, you were in right hand lane going straight over into the right hand lane of a dual carraigeway? She was in the left hand lane, trying to go around the roundabout?

Happened to me 3 weeks after I passed my test, she was 100% in the wrong, but took about 9 months to get excess back.

Personally I would recommend going through your insurer unless there are witnesses.

At least inform yours initially, then if the story changes at her end you can let them deal with the fallout.

I say this unfortunately through recent painful experience of a roundabout collision, though to be fair the other half bizarrely (to me) thought it wasn't their fault from the off in my case

Ah noes :(

Hope it gets sorted quickly for you, sounds pretty clear cut. Did she admit fault there and then?

Sorry no, ignore that.

Literally picture the blue line and car (me as the only thing on the roundabout, no green or orange.

Where the blue car is I was a little ahead of that, woman came from the left lane (to my left entry to roundabout) and just drove into the side of me. 100% her fault.

Erm, got her insurance (Go Skippy) so I guess calling them is the first port of call. If they mess aroudn then go straight to mine to reopn the notification to an actual case.

Curious to what makes it an M?

Is it like an M330d?

I'm not aware of an m330D.....the M135i is a specific model designation, like the m550D...they have started making half way houses between M powered and M-Sport cars...kinda like Audi that have A4 S-line, S4, and then RS4, the mXXX is similar to the "S4" middleground imo.
