Do I really need a graphics card?

I'm starting to wonder whether or not I need a graphics card anymore at all. I'm not playing any games on the PC anymore, most of the things I do are browsing/music/watching movies/shows/youtube.

Would the i5 2500k on board graphics be capable of handling it's own for the above or would a standalone graphics card still do it all better?

I've got a GTX670 4gb atm, powering a 1440p monitor.

Imo yrs. Why not remove the 670 and (aell it to me) and try without for a week?

Yep I was about to do this but just realized my mobo doesn't have a DVI connector lol. I might just downgrade, but don't seem to get much for a 670 to warrant an exchange so I dunno yet.

Yes but at low refresh I'll give you a bag of chips + 50p for the 670

Haha thanks for the offer but as above might just be worth keeping it :P

I think the HD4000 doesn't support dual link DVI which you'll need for 1440p so you're probably out of luck with the HD3000 on the 2500K (even if you had a board with DVI on it). Best to stick with the 670 or sell it and pick up a R7 240 or something like that.

No way - I would expect £170 at least for a 4GB. And your can pick up a second hand R7 240 (outputs at 1440p) for £30. Have a look on ebay.
